Less than 1 in 10 people who looks at this thread has been voting. I think that says enough about how useful this poll is... sry s.r.g.

Let people vote for their alliance.  The poll is not here for any other reason than to provide a way for people to state their opinion.  If their opinion is that their alliance will win, then so it is.  People who are not actively participating in the tournament will have to vote for the alliance they think will win.

By reason, I mean a stated opinion on the forum as to why the voter thinks their chosen alliance will win. The poll does not require this, to my knowledge.

We can only assume the alliances that are strongly participating aren't holding back.  And the act of voting requires a reason for choosing the alliance for which you vote.  It's pretty hard to submit a choice without having made one, and every choice has a reason, however flippant or briefly considered.  However, any good reason for a particular choice is paired with incentive to use that information wisely and not just give it away.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade.  But people will either vote for a reason or not vote, and I can't see the value in either result.  There's no motivation present that will provoke people to supply useful or accurate information, nor anything that can be learned from erroneous or absent information (in this particular case).

The poll does not require any reason for voting for a particular alliance.  Alliances holding back are not on the leader board, therefore they are not on this poll.

There are only two obvious (and mundane) options: vote for your own team, or vote for whichever team is doing the best so far.  Some people might have hunches about alliances that have been holding back or other strategic undercurrents.  But if they do, why wouldn't they keep it to themselves?

seems like a pretty silly poll to me... just a flaming invitation really that serves very little purpose.

This is supposed to be an unbiased vote, based on what is happening in the tournament.

Yes, people will probably vote for their own alliance, but it will show who has the most active forum users that are participating in the tourney.

Also, only the top 9 alliances on the leader board are represented here, meaning any little alliances who want to brag can do so without affecting the outcome of the voting.
