yeah but that was for basic resources not for something that i had to demo for and research days for and try and keep track of and manage for crafting weapons and armor

i would love a mail saying cotters started gathering, there is such and such amount here

To be fair, lots of people complain about the harvesting messages that already exist.

Yes, it would be nice to see these new trade units on the trade overview page, where unused caravans are shown.  Maybe dimmed if they exist, but cannot actually do anything without foraging / grape picking / ... research.  There's apparently no "begin foraging" or similar mail, presumably because this would make no sense.

Currently the only way I can find to view them is to click on a resource, selected harvest and all caravans and cotters will show up. It's not perfect but it's the only way you can seemingly look at them. Hopefully the GMs will add a different screen to view them soon.

Are cotters supposed to be invisible until the foraging research is ready?  Where do they show up?  Why can I allegedly build 7635 vans in a town with 70 vans, and 10,000 cotters for a total of 2 cottages?

Update: The max. problem fixed itself, actually trying to get more cotters than cottages tells how many can be really recruited.  And sending a harvesting mission offers to send cotters if there are cotters, after I researched foraging.
