Time for a bit of an update .... as WoT is no longer a "newer" alliance by Illy standards per Ellisande's original post ....
The Wheel of Time (WoT) alliance has just celebrated its first birthday and welcomes players of all sizes who are willing and able to locate near our hubs in Fremorn, The Western Realms, Kumala, and Lan Larosh regions. WoT is a stable and non-aggressive alliance, very active in AC and well-able to further our new "Villagers'" training to fully trained Aes Sedai or Asha'man levels. All specialities, races and time-zones welcome! Contact Ellisande or Manannan for more information and to take the pledge! Beware the trout! Currrent goal: getting ready for the next tourny. Following a fresh delivery of trout I can confirm the recruitment doors are open once again to swear in new members with the alliance oath... If you hit someone with a fish are they battered?  
In January 2011, a crack MMORPG team was sent to Illyriad for a crime they (possibly) didn't commit. They increased in numbers and escaped to the Western Realms border region. Today still wanted for crimes against humour they survive as inmates at an asylum. If you have a coffee addiction, if you have an inability to sleep, and if you can find them, maybe you can join... The WoT-Team!!! 
(I've really gotta stop watching TV when I do these things.)

Met a few of u on Global Chat earlier tonight, elisande, Mannanan and Shadar...u were very helpful to me as a newb, and of course I recognise Wheel Of Time, the many AMAZING Robert Jordan books...!! Sounds like a good alliance to me, and if you are still recruiting when I look at joining an alliance I would love it if you would consider me!! I'll be in touch...LOL!!

Nein, Nok! ;) T? is moving advanced players out and bringing new blood in constantly and I always recommend new players go to T? I wouldn't recommend WoT as a substitute for T?... I just think WoT are a great group of folks and I think new AND older players looking for an alliance to join should seriously consider them...
