Topic: What's the "Gold Value" of prestige? Posted: 04 Jul 2012 at 08:09 |
|
I tried to find the least offensive forum to post this in, and intentionally avoided "Game Suggestions" to avoid any debate on if this should ever even be considered.
That being said. How much in game gold would you pay for Prestige? Or how much gold would it take for you to sell Prestige?
If the devs ever (and I'm not suggesting that they do) created a prestigious resource that could be converted to and from prestige what would it sell for? I have a number in my head but I hold off in the hope I'll get a couple of replies. Hopefully 1 or 2 from players with 9 or 10 towns.
Please only respond with either I would never buy prestige even if it cost 1 gold, or I would buy/sell prestige for this price. If you want to say how stupid an idea it is to even discuss this, please start a new thread.
Thanks for any replies.

18*2538*7*24*120/100/16*2.5 = 1,439,046 1,439,046 gold per P is a possible price 2.5 possible price for basic resources (excl. food) 16 = 4*4 prestige for a one week 20% bonus 120/100 20% bonus 7*24 = 168 hours per week 2538 level 20 production for clay/iron/stones/wood 18 = 25-7 plots in an ordinary "7 food" town
Hm, I wouldn't pay more than 1M gold for 1P, and I'm surprised by the result of this "approximation". Presumably it's wrong.

That sounds like a fair price 1p for 1m gold. Though I don't see how you can give prestige to someone. Logging onto their account is against the rules and that is not something that should be done. :/

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so you will not be dependent on anybody.

People are already currently buying alliance prestige in exchange for resources, so it is possible to do with the current rules, but the premise of this thread is more hypothetical.
I'm curious if the 1 million number keeps coming up, if that would be the price people would like to buy it at, or would we end up with any sellers at that price point?
If you had to start a new account and couldn't buy any more prestige, would you rather start with 1000 prestige or 1 billion gold? Obviously if you had alts, or alliance mates that would change everything, but if you had to build the account all on its own.
Thanks for the replies already, I hope we can get a few more to chime in..

I think 1 million is a fair price, as to whether I would sell it though I am not sure. I would proberbly rather my alliance gained from any pres that I did not want in preference to gaining 1 million gold.

Obviously it was wrong, it was the price for 120% instead of 20%. As far as this approximation makes sense it yields only about 240K gold per P, sorry.

I would never 'sell' prestige, even if the price was 10m per 1 prestige. I buy pres to support the game more than anything and on other games, I'm quite strict about not buying anything unless I think I'm going to be there for a very long time and I'm confident that the money I give will go back into the game development.
That said, I probably would gift prestige to friends in my alliance - for birthdays or helping me with something. I doubt the devs will ever allow the selling of prestige, Illyriad is supposed to be against 'pay to win'.

FYI Auraya, you can already gift prestige if you like, you just need to be set as a sitter, then you can buy for the account but not spend it.

I would never trade prestige for any amount of gold

I think 1milion for just 1 prestige is a bit much as 5 are needed to extend a prestige account. 700-800k would be max for me to buy. won't even think about selling at any price
