Topic: what does happen with cities of inactive accounts? Posted: 17 Sep 2011 at 17:05 |
Could someone answer the question: what does happen with cities of inactive / abandoned accounts?
as for my experience of the last months there should be hundreds of abandoned cities on the map in the meanwhile. while inactive towns which are in the circle where new players start might not disturb too much, I think it's a pity that many abandoned towns are also occupying nice spots which could be of better use for active players searching for a sqare to relocate or for creating a new settlement.
will these inactive cities be deleted from the map after a while by the system (e.g. after 1-2 months)? or, do they remain until somebody besieges and captures or razes them? (this would be a big effort for all that tiny settlements)
btw, I've read somewhere that abandoned cities stop producing resources after a certain time, is that true?

They get removed after a certain time of being declared inactive...or if you have the ability to siege you can do this yourself

ACCOUNT AUTO-ABANDONMENT We
have just loosened the rules to abandon more accounts - as the number
of new players that are joining Illyriad every day has jumped quite
considerablly: Every time a new player joins Illyriad we try to remove an "abandoned account" in the following priority: - 0 pop where Last Active > 4 days, oldest Last Active first [non-prestige purchaser]
- < 10 pop where Last Active > 14 days, oldest Last Active first [non-prestige purchaser]
- Last Active > 28 days, oldest Last Active first [non-prestige purchaser, hasn't customised own profile]
- Last Active > 28 days, oldest Last Active first [non-prestige purchaser]
- Last Active > 84 days, oldest Last Active first [prestige purchasers]
they stop producing after 4weeks i believe

If the account is inactive, can I siege with a tiny army (in other words, get some practice in)? Will a tiny siege army eventually prevail?

you need a level 20 barracks to set up a proper siege (siege encampment). At level 15 you will be able to train siege units and use them in your army though (for a one time volley after a successful attack)

The pace of auto delete has picked up dramatically of late, I have seen many large inactive accounts go away in my areas

That is because of the increased influx SF. One inactive account gets deleted every time a new player joins. I think it will stabilize soon.
