New players are being hit as soon as they come out of protection.  A lev 10 mage tower is not feasible at that point.  But Erik Dirk is right, even a low-level rune will make things a little harder on any thieves.  Upgrade mage tower and study Runes!

It needs to be changed yes however I'd like to point out a thing called the mage tower, and a spell school called runes. with alliance help a new player should easily reach level 10 and seeking glyph, 130 thieves lost = 260 cattle should be more that enough deterant to make robbing a new player worthwhile.

I have heard from the GMs that there might be some improvement to the vault in the future, particularly in the numbers of advanced resources protected.

I would like to request that those changes occur sooner than "soon."

The nearly complete inability to protect any level of advanced resources for a new player is driving players from the game.  I have heard concerns in this regard from leaders of a number of alliances that reach out to new players, as well as new players themselves.

With the change to diplo tracking, increases in thieving were inevitable.  We need to create a balance that allow new players to protect a reasonable level of advanced resources that will allow them to grow.

If the other changes are going to take a lot longer to implement, please consider implementing this one simple change sooner.
