Guys-- When the Faction descriptions are released today, you will get a much better idea of what the faction is like and whether you want to settle near it...

Has resource production been turned off for inactives?  Just noticing some of my usual farms no longer seem to be producing...

Apparently they're planning on releasing a detalied document today on the factions, The Prcise coords of the Hubs, the areas they claim as their own, the races, the Diplo stances to everyone else (weather they are friendly/neutral/hostile to Player races/Other factions) and so on. I hope they do.

I really hope we will get more info about the different faction before next wednesday, because rigth now all we can see on the map isn't very usefull to make a plan.
I dont know about you, but I would like to know more than the name and race of each faction...

also, you have made the map so that "ocean" reaches out in several place to touch the mainland. Have you got any significant advantage in mind for the citys adjacent to ocean tiles? (special type of boat?...)

For some real estate to be better, others need to be less so?

I'm a bit confused by this. What's the point of them if they're mostly places you'd never want to go to?

What I don't understand is why anyone would want a biome city. From what I've seen, the resource distributions still only give 6 or 7 to one top resource, and then 5 or less for every other one. The sum is almost always less than 25, and there are no special production bonuses. I was expecting distributions closer to 7.1.2.9.3 or something, but as it is now, I see no reason not to just carry on as if biomes were never released.

Edit-Sorry if that came off as mean, and I'd like to add that the devs did an amazingly quick job, fastest game development I have seen.

Couple more points to consider, as has been pointed out moving a forest to a desert would look wierd but even worse is game balance.
I'm assuming there will be things in the desert that will make settleing there worthwhile (given available reseources below 25), however given that teleprting players take their underlying terrain with them this would mean that players would get the normal extra resources, plus any bonuses from around the desert. (or would desert bonus's be new desert only buildings?)

Have you guys accounted for that?
It will be explained tomorrow Smile

By the way given that the faction capitals can't be harmed are they going to look different from faction expansions? (not soon i know) but yeah they should look different and the player protection circles on each capital won't look that good.
Yes and the differentiation will become more obvious in UI v2, as  well as being easier to spot resources and understand the regions on the map etc...
