A battle for who knows what.
Siege tower mammoths blockading this life going nowhere fast. A jewel of fire clutched in fist defiantly withholding from sight my love, my hope, my trust afterglow snuffed in a whisp. Where did these walls come from? How much time has passed? Is that the horizon beyond the wall or shadows on the wall? I am numb. The horizon catches my eager gaze with haphazard mirages and shadow things fleeting or perhaps respite from this dreary haze. Keep the gate locked up! Anyways I misplaced the key. Am I being kept in here blissfully devoid of fear? Once more mute sirens drone familiar stagnant cozy embrace. Scowl hung low on the mirror face I wave goodbye to the unknown. |
