   Newbie question.

I built a cotter, cottage, and sent him out to collect MINERALS, all good.

I can see him gathering the minerals, and in trade movements it shows i have an inventory of minerals. 

BUT it doesnt show any in my inventory of resources under minerals, and it doesnt show them as sellable in market.

i assume i need to research something, to allow me to sell the minerals ?
or what other uses are these minerals, should i be storing them for later use ?

	Many of the rarer items can only be sold in a trade hub using a trader. That's the case here. They should show in your inventory though. The best guide to using a trade hub is here: http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/9-trade_topic3989.html It is a bit complicated and takes some time to get a trader, but it's well worth it. In addition to trading rare items, having a trader in a local hub lets you store your thieveable valuables there at zero risk, which means never having to worry about thieves again. For trading the best hub is Centrum, but for storing valuables you want a reasonably friendly hub close to your city or cities (which is another reason why clustering your cities in the same general area can be a good idea).

	Your cotter isn't done harvesting yet. They will return home automatically when they have each harvested 100 minerals (or get recalled with a messenger, or get bumped by other harvesters). Then the minerals will appear in your inventory. If you can see open hub buy orders, you can sell them to fulfill those orders, and they will be shipped via caravan to the hub, where the caravans will retrieve your gold.

	In other words they (Cotters) need to bring the minerals back to your city to be counted as part of your current inventory. :)
