Topic: Alliance Prestige and TBL Posted: 22 Sep 2013 at 09:53 |
Recently there was some talk about the alliance gold pool and whether it will / should be available to our cities in TBL. I would like to ask peoples' views on a similar topic; should the alliance prestige pool be available to our cities in TBL? I have no real strong opinion either way on this at the current time, but I was wondering if other people did. And if so; what those opinions were and what are the reasons for them. Any comments on this matter are most welcome, especially if the Devs wish to enlighten us with their view on the matter.

Since Broken Lands will just be a extension to our existing accounts, not a new account, prestige will be transferrable because it goes to an account, not an area or city. So someone receiving alliance prestige can use it wherever he/she desires.

Llyr, there might be some concern over prestige given as tournament prizes at the alliance level. I can't recall if that has ever been a reward or not. Winning in Elgea would result in advantage in BL.

BL is just an extension of Illy, it's not a different game, so alliance prestige should be used freely on both maps.

with alliances crossing both maps, it's difficult to understand how alliance prestige could be separated, or even how contributions could be made by a player for Elgea vs BL.

Alliance prestige awarded for tournaments, if that occurs, would still be given by the alliance to an account not an area (Elgea vs BL). So yes, if the account has cities in both areas it could be spent in either. Changing that would require a complete reprogramming of the prestige system so that prestige would be purchased or awarded by individual city, rather than by account. I don't think that will happen.
Gold (or other resources) would not be affected since they are sent to a specific city, and there won't be any resource movement between the two areas. At least not to start with; that might change.
