Will it really cost to this game owners , to just put that prestige buying option?
The sure thing  is that they ll get their money back.. and that they will make the life of the players easier...  Back in time i was playing another web broswer strategy game , and they just  did a voting thing,to see what their players prefer.  Just do that.
In some days , make a message pop in the screen of those who log in (just once) with this question : What is in your opinion the most convenient way for you to buy prestige?
1) Via cards
2) phone calls &messages.

Or something like this.... And then you will understand that there are more people in illyriad , than you think they were, that prefer messages.

If again , it doesnt cost much to make this option available, dont even bother to do this voting thingy.
Just make it available..........And if it had been done before xmas, you would have gained even more. Because people are generous during xmas and generally celebrations. And because they stay more at home because of the bad weather :)

that´s the system i have on my cc. when i use it, which is very rarely, the payment is promptly made in full when charged on my account.
i will not generalize to europe, not even Portugal, cause i live in a small town, but here, you don't need cc to build credit history... the use of cc is still not as comun as it is on Canada or the US, not even close.... but is rising......
If life doesn't break you today, don't worry... it will try again tomorrow!!

I was actually very much the same 5-8 years ago.  Somewhere along the way I had to learn to deal with progress, though in person I still use debit almost exclusively.  The good news is that banks/cc issuers only make money off of you if you are irresponsible.  Off me they just make something like $15 CDN per year in charges for the privilege of having a card.  When you consider the otherwise high costs of international transactions and currency exchanges, it's not so bad.

Also, I'm not sure how far along you are in terms of age and personal/career development, nor whether things are different in Europe, but if you don't regularly use a credit card in Canada or the U.S. it's very hard to build a credit history, without which you'll never be able to get a mortgage and buy a house.  But one tiny transaction a month and prompt payment each month is just as good for your credit rating as having a ton of huge loans or running credit card balance, also being promptly paid.

Wuzzel - that only happens in Europe.  The US does not have chip and pin yet and even with a debit/atm card you can run it as credit and only have to sign instead of entering a pin number.

Paypal is the scum of the financial industry.  That said, when they are just the merchant processor for credit cards, it's a non-issue.  It's your card issuer that has all the power, and no loyalty to merchants.  You are their customer, and the longer you've used a card without incident, the more readily they will take your word over anyone else's.  This thankfully means you can easily get fraudulent charges or identity theft issues reversed through them regardless of any drama enacted by a merchant or merchant processor.

Incidentally, you are far, far more likely to have your identity/card info stolen in physical shops (and especially restaurants) than even most of the shadiest online venues that have been round for at least a couple months.  It's funny how paranoia so often misses the real threats.  What's more, I'm under the impression that European telecoms aren't as corrupt and incompetent as North American ones, but even so online banking (be it debit, credit, or even PayPal) remains far safer than letting your phone provider act as a blind billing broker.

Take it from a thoroughbred identity recluse:  I don't mean to be critical, but sooner or later the "won't let banking go online" attitude just won't fly.  Chances are your bank account is accessible online whether you use that capability or not, and you're not actually protecting yourself anyway.

another thing with prestige would be i fyou could send it to other players. Cuz I would love to be able to bribe other players that are far larger than me to send me a lot of resources for some prestige to speed things up a bit lol
