Command and Conquer is coming out with a Browser MMORTS that seems pretty decent: http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/mmobility-command-and-conquers-new-twist-on-the-mmorts/

A game I absolutely enjoy while not on here is CreepTD.
http://www.creeptd.com/en
If you like tower defense games, it is by far the best I've played. You can play directly from your browser or download the client(faster). It's not your typical TD. It's multiplayer PvP, 2v2 co-op, Survivor(how many waves of creeps can you last?). If you like tower defense, I say play this game. You have a "skill" ranking and "experience" ranking, which rises and falls depending on the outcome of your games. XP Never drops, only your skill if you lose :)

I've been playing this for a few weeks. It is pretty, but I have a feeling that it does not have the "Stay power" that illy has. If you try it, look me up: invictusanimi

lol I actually played that for a little while.
And it reminds me, there is an EXCELLENT game I would recommend for everyone. Personally I enjoyed it very much. But I am taking a vacation from it cause you can get burned out from it eventually. Your character stays forever so no worries about being inactive.

Those of you who are also very selective of
the games they play should try Core-Exiles. It is a space game but far more
then that. You are the captain of a just a single ship but that is more then
enough. You can be whatever you want to be in a very large expanse with
hundreds of worlds to visit. It will take you MONTHS to realise the enormity of
the game and also realise that you need more MONTHS to get anywhere at all.
There is NO PvP but to loads of NPCs
to keep you happy if that is what you
want. Trolls can’t exist there and those who have to think about what they want
to do fade away quickly. There is a good community if you feel the need to chat
about something. Find it, read about
it, and try it.

Core-Exiles is a fun game, kind of odd but it has its points. Not a game I can play everyday 24/7 but a good filler for when I'm waiting for stuff on this game.

Nile Online (the trading game) really hooked me for about a month, but then I found myself thinking "so what?"
Stronghold Kingdoms is pretty, but the designers have decided they want to force PvP on players, so it quickly becomes really, really nasty. (Not as nasty as Travian, but nearly!)
I really liked the feel of Grepolis, but it soon turns into just another game of competitive bullying (much like Travian.)
I've tried plenty that are worse than the above!
So, nothing I can really recommend - though I'll be watching this thread with interest, as I'm always on the look out for good games!

I used to play a couple of other browser games, tribal wars and lord of ultima. Tribal wars was a very unforgiving experience, lord of ultima was friendlier and a little more in-depth. I have tried many others which are very similar or identical to these two games. None compared to illy, imho, and the only worthwhile experience I gained was the knowledge illy was a superior game. So they were worthwhile...
*Edit* I should have said they were both empire building games.

A nice game to do in between is "Puzzle Pirates". Based on a pirate theme, you do different mini games to perform actions (like loading cannons, sailing, pumping out the water, etc...). In a combined effort of a crew of 1 up to over 200 players per ship, there are battles against other ships (player and NPC ones). Further you can do some trading, and there are taverns to loose your hard earned in game currency with poker, spades, etc...
The optic seems somehow childish and colourful, but the gameplay really is fun =) (But beware: Quiting during some sea fight leads to possible loss of that fight => plan how much time you have, before starting something time consuming... )
