Topic: Looking for an organized alliance Posted: 21 Nov 2011 at 02:39 |
|
Have played Illyriad in the past,I've returned again on a new account and am looking for an active,tight-knit,and possibly war-like alliance. Understand I'm still a small fellow with only 200 population,so I dont mind a training alliance, but again I'd rather it have the same qualities as those mentioned above. If there is anyone who can point me in a good direction or accept me into their alliance I'd be most grateful.

there is currently a stasis situation, and all alliances that call them self "war-like" are systematically hunted down and eradicated from the game. also it's common practice ( and sense) to not openly talk about your war like preferences. this for your own well being.

Try euphemisms like "pursuing a military path" or "interested in tactics and strategy." You'll find a lot of strategic alliances out there.

I'm not talking about the alliances that pose themselves as war-like and only attack noobs. I remember one instance where a certain alliance stated to claim an entire province on the world map and mercilessly destroyed any newcomers into the game that had the misfortune to spawn there. I have a high disdain for these alliances and they deserve to be removed from the game.

And is there shame in taking an aggressive path in Illyriad? I find it quite entertaining and challenging to wage war,and it is a disappointment others do not seem to find the sense of enjoyment that follows in the wake of a successful campaign against your enemy. I am not an aggressor against those who cannot protect themselves adequately, but I do enjoy spilling blood,as it makes playing the game worthwhile. Surely you understand this?

Some people play the game without any interest in spilling blood. As long as you respect that not everyone wants to fight you, and fight with other people who are interested in fighting, there shouldn't be a problem. It's when people attack people who want to live in peace that there get to be problems.
Illy is a sandbox, and not everyone in Illy is interested in playing war. For the people who do want to play war, have at it -- but don't impose it on those who aren't interested.

Kill them Rats!!!! But really, people that talk about wanting to kill others or wage war are attacked early on and kept in check. War will come, its only a matter of time but you should not go looking for war. Each his own though, if you want war then you can go after war. But I would suggest trying to find an alliance that does war games. Many alliances on here form NAPs or Confeds with near by alliances so that everyone can live in peace. Try to find a training alliance for protection and then work on growing your resources. Once you have around 3k resources an hour (should have about 2k pop at that time), start working on a small army. Train on npcs and inactive you find on the map. Make sure they are inactive or you might have big problems on your hands if they are not. Then once you get out of the training alliance start asking around for a main alliance. By that time you will know the direction you are wanting and how this game has changed. Who knows someone in the training alliance might point you in a better direction. Also +1 to rills post, you are very good at responding to post.
