Topic: Commander XP Posted: 16 Sep 2011 at 16:32 |

I was wondering if XP was split between commanders when they belong to the same army, or if they earn the same amount as a single commander handling it all.
Also, does the amount of XP earnt depend solely on the opposing army's total upkeep, or is the difficulty of the fight taken into account as well? (e.g. 100 troops against 10 versus 100 against 90)

If there is more than one commander is its split between them.
XP earned depends on what your fighting. Certain NPC species earn more XP than others, and certain fights are harder than others but gain you no more experience. The experience any destroyed troop can give is between 1 and 5.
The maximum gold you can earn from a fight is the experience earned x12. This is of course assuming you have sufficient troops remaining to carry all the gold after the fight.

the total XP is split with fractions discarded. so if 3 commanders kill 5 units of 1 upkeep each, one commander will get 1 xp each. if 3 commanders kill 6 units of 1 upkeep each, the commanders will get 2 xp each.
the difficulty is not taken into account.

In fact, xp earned by your commanders is the amount of xp given by the troops his division killed.
So, if your divisions have the same power, xp split will be homogeneous. If you divisions have different powers, the div who kill the most will have more xp than the div who kill the less.

within the same army, XP is split equally between commanders after an attack.
i am not sure if this case was different in the past. also not sure if the case is different while defending.
