Ah, well then. New player here, so didn't know this was a new feature.

Free prestige was introduced only a few weeks back :)

I rarely view Illy in less than 16 zoom. for that I need to pay a paltry prestige upkeep... but it also lets me queue stuff which is essential (particularly in your blacksmith where both chain and swords are bottlenecks...)

I "try" to use prestige only to have an active account. Multiple build queues are very important to me. I might speed up vans in a pinch for others. Or speed build if I screw up something. I have tried the offense/defense bonuses...meh, I tried them.
I really don't use 15 sq world map. It really drags my system/internet-dunno which. Same holds on my laptop, too. I routinely suffer a heavy lag. Sometimes, tho, no lag at all (nirvana).

Well, thanks for the explanation.
I must have had 'prestige' for all the 7 months I've been here, and never saw the 'activate prestige account' click-on before.
Sorry if I offended the powers that be in Illyriad. I probably should unfocus from the game from time to time, and read more info here in the forums!

Hi Kelis, The only thing that's changed regarding prestige (with UIv2) is the ability to zoom out to 15 levels rather than 10. Given that 10 was already a step up from UIv1, we didn't think people would mind! But no, nothing's changed on the production side since the original UIv1 launch. It's the same as it always was as regards queuing up production orders being an active-prestige-account-only facility. Regards, SC

You have always had to have prestige to add to existing production queues. That ability comes at no prestige cost save for having your prestige account active (equivalent to very roughly 5 bucks a year). If you cannot spend that much, you need only wait until the queue is empty before refilling it.
Users of HarmlessButler for UI 1.0 will recall they had an event schedule listing that showed them when queues were nearing completion, which helps managing this with minimal effort, whether using prestige or not. The replacement for that tool will also have this feature, as well as support all major browsers (with a possible exception of IE, depending on how things go).
