Topic: The Con Orc-leaving Posted: 15 Dec 2010 at 14:48 |
I have heard some disturbign news from one of my friends on here. It appears me and my alliance has been suffering at the hands of "one of the big players". The reason? apparently I'm considered a disgrace to this game. How? I'm a disgrace because I do the best for my alliance? That I partcipate on these forums? King EAM says I post to get the high rankings on here, I could really care less. Normally I would ignore these sabotagings and thieving but my alliance is being threatened as well. So here I say: Siege my town if you want, thieve from it if you want, but leave the D'Haran Alliance alone.
It seems strange that some of these players that have been terrorizing me and my alliance were big activists in the downfall of TMM, what was TMM infamous for? Attacking weak players while they were oh so much bigger.
As a dedicated member to my alliance, I ask you please spare the alliance.

http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/crowanother-large-pussy-alliance_topic1344.html Is that really a surprise that King EAM, the leader of CrowB, would have a problem with you bringing back a thread that was rightfully locked in the first place, only to say "I wanted to post but it was locked" would have a problem with that? I'm not sure what the circumstances behind you getting attacked are exactly but if you're pissing people off you kind of need to expect someone will do something about it. TMM was attacking people simply because they were in the area of the map they had claimed was theirs , I don't think that would have been seen as acceptable regardless of the size of the players.I don't see much of a connection to the TMM situation and this situation.

TCO has made it a point to publicly insult Crows. I have seen TCO say downright obnoxious things about King EAM on Global Chat. TCO was even banned from GC for 12 hours for his juvenile, personal insults.
TCO has demanded that other players provide him with justification re: TMM so that he can sit as Judge and Jury over others.
TCO has complained about the "drift toward peace" when he sees a general avoidance of war. But when TCO is on the receiving end of a little diplo action, he complains about how other alliances are Big Blue Meanies just like TMM.
So as best as I can tell, TCO wants to be the bully and pick fights but he doesn't want any hostile incomings to him. And he seems to think being an alliance leader means that his alliance members will not suffer from his actions.
TCO is not a disgrace to Illy. But he does not present his alliance nor himself in a very favorable manner. "How to Win Friends and Influence People" should be at the top of TCO's reading list.

TCO has called this upon himself by publicly insult a big alliance like the Crows. In holland we have a expression for that: Eigen schuld, dikke bult. Wich basicly means-> You did something very wrong so deal with it.
For his alliance I agree. I don't think his alliance has to suffer for his words only for being in a alliance where TCO is the leader. Ofcourse I can't tell if his alliance members have said the same public insults.

Eigen schuld, dikke bult.
2 American idioms for this idea:
You made your bed, now sleep in it.
You reap what you sow.
A slightly different but close idea:
If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
And another idea that TCO seemd to miss:
Remember which side your bread is buttered on.
(meaning don't irritate people that help you...specifically me to the point that I considered putting my butter knife away and taking up my dagger.) :)

Most of the posts The Con Orc have made in this forum are for his own ends. They do not reflect the views of the D'Haran Empire. I would also note he was not the leader of the Alliance, I was and still remain to be. The Con Orc is no longer a member and decided to leave as he decided that his actions and his previous posts were no longer in line with the alliance and they were bringing a danger toward us. This was against of the alliance rules which he himself agreed on in the beginning. While it is sad to lose a member who took up alot of the work in the alliance, it is noble of him to step down when he knows his actions have endangered others. Gratch, Master Rahl of the D'Haran Empire

Yes, I was angry that he brought up that topic about the crows and that he was spamming. Just to clear things up.

But Con Orc has such a nuanced and delicate sensiblity when it comes to diplomacy... How could anyone be rubbed the wrong way from such a font of tactful eloquence?
