i suppose that would work to some people's advantage,but we would have to be able to control our units more, fore instance if we send a huge army on a 6 day march we wouldn't want them to be overpowered by the refreshed troops at the place we are attacking beacuse that would wipe out our army.

it seems to me that in order to create a more lifelike game, units should get tired.  what I mean by this is each unit would have a "tire rate" or a certain percentage of speed lost every amount of squares.  The tiredness of a unit could also affect battle results.  to renew units, a system of "resting" will be necessary.  
This is simply an idea, and like all ideas will need some refining.  So, if you have any questions, comments, or critiques, post 'em here!
