eh... but why must you seek to go after
only those who are smaller than you? how are you "spicing things
up" when what I believe you are after is war? They can't protect
themselves very well, obviously, but they also can't engage in a war
with you.
I still think you are a PvP player who would love a
game where when you start off, within a good hour or so, you are
already building an army.
i think you are mistaking something
about this game. To me, it seems that you are bored. This game is a
slower pace and takes actual thought and work at it. You need to
build something from practically nothing.
I never agreed with
the idea of making you an "example", but I definitely
didn't agree with your type of attack. Had it been thieves, I would
have just scoffed and said whatever. I've personally been thieved and
although it slowed my progress a bit, it didn't still me for days as
you did intentionally to a player multiple days away and was a new
player.
To any new player, losing that kind of time is a big
problem.
I'm sorry that you don't like the way that the
majority of the players have decided to play this game, but when I
talk to people in GC, I get the distinct impression of a vibrant
myriad of people who consider this game to be a fascination because
of the in depth quality and that it strays away from the usual, start
and kill now type of games.
If you really want a war that badly
(and I don't know where you've been, but I've only been on for a
month and I have seen wars happening all over the place), then go
after players around your strength. Now that you have an alliance, go
after another alliance. You'll get your war.
It is sad though, that you completely
disregard the diplomacy side of the game and favor the pure war side
of the game.
If you are really that bored, the
number of games available to you for free, which provide what you are
looking for, is immense. Why stay on a game, you obviously don't seem
to particularly enjoy much (since you are bored) when you could be
enjoying your time playing a game that is more your type?
This is the one thing that I am not
understanding. Is it just your need to rebel, or is it something that
I just haven't figured out yet? Illy isn't for everyone. I have a
number of friends I know that wouldn't actually enjoy this game. They
need the fast pace and a fierce, one on one, “Die you Die!”.
I love Illy. I love the complexity and
the notion that it is going to become even more in depth as time goes
on. I quite enjoy the diplomacy side of the game and considering that
it takes so long to be able to support yourself before you can even
think to build an army, I truly believe that the creators had
purposefully placed stress on the diplomacy side of the game.
War is just too easy to start. That's
why it's an easy, quick, instant satisfaction for those other games.
But Diplomacy? That's a hard one. It's a challenge. It's a game in
itself. It's something that I believe you need in a game like Illy.
So I'll say it again: If you just want
pure chaos, play a different game. If you really want what you say
you want, then do so in a manner that actually achieves what you
want. You want a war, I'm sure you can get that. But the random
attacks? It really wouldn't mind if you weren't aiming at new players
who are much smaller than you, since that goes against what you are
saying. If you want a war with the “Big Players”, then attack
them. It is lowly, pitiful, cowardly, and inelegant to go after the
new players just to get the attention of the vets. That just makes
you seem like a child and you lose the respect of the other players.
Sorry it's so long.. but these are my thoughts and I am just trying to understand some things.
