This is discussion 10.4.2.1 about this topic.

So far as I know, nothing new has been said since at least discussion 2.8.4.6.

I don't believe the devs will do anything about this since the aim is to cause friction, diplomacy, battles and other content to keep the server interesting.

If they had wanted everyone to have a nice plot to themselves with no reason to fight they would either make the map grow or limit the number of players allowed on each server. They would also make all resources unlimited and change swords to be made of feathers etc.

It is not possible to manage six accounts anyway and many of those pure sitter accounts do hardly grow and are only exploited by other players.

Lets say each city takes 20 sov.  I don't have numbers but I really doubt Illy has 200k developed cities in it.
Naw .... Them's that lives by the sword dies by the sword aaaaarrrrrrrr! Siege and Raze! Siege and Raze!

After all- it depends upon your perception.  Those whiny naysayers  who accuse you of driving out another newbe or stealing someone's plot  just completely miss the point. You are just "freeing up space" or even engaging in slum clearance. Aren't you? Ermm

Dropping sitter slots to one won't fix what you want it to imo, on another game there was a rule where you could only sit someone for a set amount of time without them logging in though which I wouldn't argue against if implemented.

On your actual point of is there enough good spots to settle from the viewpoint of someone settling their cities still of course i'd like more but there are still options, especially in the more remote areas. You may need to terraform but i've found city spots okay so far.

For a pessimist i'm pretty optimistic

Twilight, things come up in life. Business trips, family duties, long vacations on tropical beaches. 90 days is just fine.

You could try to cut down on eternal account sitting, but people will just make more legal and illegal alts. It's pretty much undetectable. Passing accounts happens in many MMOs, and I've never seen it resolved in an elegant way. At least Illyriad acknowledges that it happens and plans accordingly.

I don't think all the good spots are taken. I think all the easy good spots are taken. A little elbow grease will turn up plenty of good settlement spots in Elgea.
