Point of view, 
i would probably leave if this game start opening new server every year and not becouse of players load,  don't want to end in a dead server like other games.
And i do not see your "new player unbalance" at all, in last 4 months i've moved from 10th in population to 105th.

like to open discussion about the need for a new server. it seems this server has been ongoing so long that it has developed activity outside the game mechanics. forums, trade groups, and several others aspects are by being conducted by the older more active players and i believe the new players are at a total disadvantage playing here. it is something i think threatens the ongoing existence of illyriad. a new server or several servers will allow players to avoid these playing conditions. what are your thoughts and would the new starting players be in favor of new servers?
