its more than that, a new player joins a game where most things are established, they have little chance of making an impact in the game and in most cases have to conform to the community that is already there, a new server would be totally sandbox without an established existing community....there is a good chance with sandbox that there would be a totally different play style on a new server, i think it would attract alot of new players to illyriad and perhaps keep people playing here that are looking for different play then what is happening on this server

Do not think there is a need at all. Inactives are removed, unlike other games I've seen. There is a size cap, which any player can catch up to if they spend enough time. There is no a size cap, the game uses alliances like any other and alliances can grow as large as they like, crowfed is a good example. limit the confeds and naps and what the two different relationships do and the need for a new server vanishes.

So what your saying is Illyriad is a progressive game where new players have to play with old players. In fact this is one of the key aspects of Illyriad and you want to not do that. Just go play a different game that resets the server every couple weeks.

I don't know, I find myself wanting a server so it can be a fresh start, the only other way we can all start on equal fields is if we all decide to nuke the city next to us, eliminating everyone.

Tournaments and Wars (especially this one) provide a kind of troop-sink that makes new servers unnecessary. With the new rules on account deletion there's actually much more room (at least in K-T) than there was six months ago. I've had an easier time finding spots for my alt than I did for my main.

Ohoo another thing: if you are worried about space for settlements just nerf the 7 food cities and you will have much more space...
