Hello fellow quest(o/e)rs,

I've eventually launched a messenger to Duraz Karag, with due warnings from the Fortune Teller, and requested tentacles stored…

So I got the usual message:
Your diplomat walks quietly around the empty halls, his footsteps echoing in the silence underneath the arches of the ruined cathedral ceiling. Spotting a gentle glow emanating behind a ruined pillar, he carefully and quietly peers behind the rubble. His initial trepidation is replaced by a sense of wonderment as he sees the vague, shimmering outline of a great Dwarven warrior, resplendent in ancient armour. Despite the ghostly shape's clearly unnatural nature, he feels nothing but calm. The translucent figure speaks with a deep, slow voice; although it appears his lips do not move. " You have done well thus far, and may yet prove yourself worthy. You must keep these terrible boils of corrupted flesh safe in your town. I warn you. Do not send them out, do not transfer them away. Keep them safe whilst you prepare yourself. When the dread corruption rises again, 02.Anagard Massilia will be in dire peril. Secure this town as best you can; you may wish to seek assistance from your compatriots, as the onslaught will be swift and ruinous when the time comes. Survive this test, and you will have but a single trial ahead of you before the secret will be yours. " The mysterious figure fades into the background, and after searching the ruins thoroughly, your diplomat returns home.
Now, I think I should provide occupying armies all around this city (8 or 24?) when
  1. Audrey wakens
  2. Full moon arises or Audrey goes back to sleep?
the idea being to prevent the tentacles to escape, which could be implied by this part of the message:  You must keep these terrible boils of corrupted flesh safe in your town. I warn you. Do not send them out, do not transfer them away. Keep them safe whilst you prepare yourself.

Any other idea?

My thought of this is - the devs will release a special weapon that requires tentacle as recipe with greater damage against the corrupted troops. Oh a tourney is coming.. whoa!!!

Excellent!

8 armies is enough--less if you have any crevices or swamps or lakes next to your town. The only two times we have seen tentacles grow is right after Audrey sleeps and on one of the 3-4 day illy full moons (which often start the day before 'real' full moons btw).

However, when our tentacles originally escaped was on a new moon--they didn't actually start visibly growing for half a month after they escaped. So surrounding your city to try to prevent even a single tentacle from growing would be an interesting experiment, but it may be separate from letting them escape to begin with... I can't think of any good ideas to not let them escape at all. If you had your town completely surrounded from that new moon and to the next full moon.. perhaps you could catch them after they escape but before they grow. worth a try. Assuming we can figure out how to get the quest started again... If nothing else, the season will be the same soon as when the first people started the quest...

So Nesse's city @ http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/#/World/Map/-459/-45/ was eventually exodused, leaving behind tentacles, 'Noxious Spores' on its location?

This is a new type of terrain?

Any interesting message during the operation?

Perhaps the point is to prevent any growth.
Thus the 8 armies need to be in position to recapture the esccaping tentacles?
Worth a try.

The tentacles that were not stopped by armies grew until they had completely surrounded the city and then stopped growing. It would be interesting if it grew more now that there was no city. Although the mist is still in the center so it probably won't.

Good experiment though :) And it finally verified the guess that the mist was actually spores.

hi guys

after discussing with couple of people who are doing quests

i sent spies to FT from the epidemic town which i captured.

the message was the one which we used to get when we start the quests,

it looks like the quest got reset, now and it must be done from begining, have any of the captured towns from nessse tried this?

and also since the quest was reset i think thats why when u guys exodused the town tentacles and everything remained in place.

if the quest got reset, now what? once i collect the tentacles back where will they escape since the towns is already surrounded by tentacles.

if FT visits me back or i find something i will post it here.

Fortune told for your mission from 12.Karak Drak

Your diplomatic mission from 12.Karak Drak arrives at [425|89] in Lucerna

The fortune teller's eyes go wide.

"I see you...

And I see your exceedingly skilled crafters.

Wait a moment."

She pauses in meditation, for what seems like hours, before suddenly jerking her head up and looking directly into your spies' eyes.

"You seek to learn the mystery of Master-Crafted Chainmail.

The next time I am with your kith, I will ask.

It will, however, cost you. Be prepared. I will be in touch."

Your diplomatic mission is heading home, alternately pondering and dismissing these words of wisdom.

*Yawn Confused

Thanks madmano. Following your lead, I had spies sent from all mystery cities possible. Every city returned that same message.

Then I sent from Elven Spirit Bow of Walkyr which has remained in the same location for years. It got the same message.

Your diplomatic mission from Elven Spirit Bow arrives at [100|-120] in Middle Kingdom

The fortune teller's eyes go wide.

"I see you...

And I see your exceedingly skilled crafters.

Wait a moment."

She pauses in meditation, for what seems like hours, before suddenly jerking her head up and looking directly into your spies' eyes.

"You seek to learn the mystery of Elven Spirit Bow.

It is as if the mystery has reset.

Also, the town of Nesse's Ivory Hall has chosen to Exodus. You can the the former site by visiting:
[-459|-45] in Keppen

I have been bored, perplexed, puzzled, angered, and confused in this mystery and am ready for someone to end the suffering.
