The tentacle outside my town has started eating things and triggering a message very similar to the Heart of Corruption. I wonder if they contribute to her diet.

I had an army camped on one of my tentacles during this full moon, what has changed in one day that they now attack? Is Audrey awake? Did you use special troops or gear?

Any details you can think of at all would be wonderful Ubluntu. I have tried to send every combination of unit I can think of to my personal tentacles during full moons and never any change. Were you using jungle gear or something like that? Were you only able to affect yours during that one day or can you still? Audrey is close to waking up but still asleep. Testing right now, my tentacles still seems to be ignoring everything I send at them. Edited by Alcie - 08 Mar 2015 at 07:11 |

If tentacles are eating things around a town, that could indicate that the town will be attacked.
The vines need raw material to make melders? I would be reinforcing that Tor Carrock town very quickly as Audrey will wake soon and this could be the trigger for the town attack. Worth taking precautions now.

Nesse's Ivory [-458|-46] in Keppen is eating diplos (assassins, in this case).
(I'll try saboteurs next.) notification tells: Heart of Corruption Visited (!) system message: As your diplomatic mission from 06.Radaang Pella moves deeper into Melder territory, the vegetation becomes twisted, wildlife scarce. As your traders approach [-458|-46] in Keppen they can see trees twisted out of shape, their trunks split by fungal growths which have erupted from within, and dark vines strangling their branches. It seems that the creepers ensnaring the trees are moving slowly, perhaps blown by the wind. Or perhaps it is not the wind. Your units press on, moving closer to their destination. But you hear no more from them. Your diplomats have vanished without a trace. Rumour reports that after your units disappeared in the Corrupted Lands, more land became twisted and dark. Verdant jungle has become infested with putrid fungus and dark creepers, as though the destruction of your forces had fuelled the spread of the corruption to nearby lands. |

Could this just be a glitch? File support petitions. I'd really, really, really, hate this quest if we had to feed one tentacle an X amount of units to get the next clue, and we could only feed that tentacle before Audrey awakes. That would be extremely cruel...

mmh — I think in fact tentacles surrounding cities could be a general extension of HoC, sync'ed on the whole map…

I think that theory is correct. Why wouldn't they be linked? You got Melder tentacles from Audrey, and magic to activate them. Maybe the city patches are just growing as she grows in the jungle. Or maybe you do indeed have to feed them enough to cause a local attack (which would support my belief that the fortune teller is a liar and Audrey's agent, because she keeps encouraging dangerous feedings).
Nice to at least see some action in the quest cities. |
