Here is Jasche's foundation topic in the forums: Member alliances are as follows: Absaroke Dwarven Druids Eagles Eyrie Eagles First Flight Fairy Road Authority Knights Temperance Knights Virtue Invictus Sages of Illyriad Victrix Worlds End Victrix went out of Consone soon after, but stayed confed to most of the alliances and was important ally in the war. |

Is there a list of the alliances that made up Consone?

Only thing I can answer is some stuff about the confeds...
Some time back Crows had been one block with many mutual confeds, as can be seen in this (some years old) forum post: http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/and-now-the-confederations_topic4465_page2.html nCrow still exists, EE and VICX were in or near Consone, and vCrow is a merge of Crow and Valar (former Consone alliance). eCrow formed after that forum post And I guess the existing confederation bondings formed directly before the war. |

First of all thank you for one of the most informative posts in this topic. If I might ask you to elaborate a little bit on a few points though I would really appriciate it. The part of Your post Im quoting seems to indicate that Epidemic was correct in saying that the GA (or parts of it) were prepareing for the war for half a year. Can you confirm or deny that? Also which alliances were in the initiating group? What it further implies is that most of the reasons for the war were only smoke screens at that time neither BANE nor CK were at war and if I understand correctly there was nothing to suggest that NC were some crazed warmongers threatning the whole server. If the aformentioned is true it bares for me a question of what the real reasons for the war were? Was it a quest for domination? Did the vets get bored (as some seem to suggest)? I don't belive in personal grudges driving such major events, but have they played any role in it? Or have there been any other reasons? Those are all intereting aspects, but what is the most confusing for me is the Crow Confederation itself. If I understood Angrim correctly eCrow (and per analogiam mCrow) were not taking part in the initial planning. You are giving here lots of reasons for which they actually could have joined the other side - am I correct to assume that this is why you did not include them in the initial planning? Were they considered fence sitters? Furthermore I can't help to notice that the Crow Confederation is not confederated with itself (mCrow and eCrow with nCrow and vCrow), yet nCrow and vCrow are confederated with many non-crow alliances. What's that about? Does the crow confederation exist or is it only names by now? Or is there a confederation of nCrow, vCrow, VICX and EE that is the really dominant on the server? If so, then is this the case just now or has it been the case since before the war? There are many more questions that could be asked in regard to all this, but Id like to start with those :) |

Oh, and I really hope Orin will be inspired of all those well written histories, stories and opinions; and just filter away all the rubbish inbetween
And as he seems to be OK with those clashing opinions, maybe he'll try to sieve some information out of the chaos, too... (yes, I still believe those might hide in there somewhere...) Edited by Hora - 23 Jan 2015 at 09:20 |

Mona Lisa, your post was great! And I guess it was so unbiased and near to the truth it stirred nearly no chaos, bickering, counterposts, etc... And so are many other posts in this thread. I see myself guilty to react more often to posts which seem to be wrong, than honouring good authorship in forums

I'm all for the disclosure of truth and commerce; provided taxes are paid directly to my person... and previous surrender terms are disclosed, so that a more or less "objective" discussion can be had on the merits of historical surrender terms. That said, I believe a holy war against war profiteers is in order. Its time that we curb special interests in Elgea! |

Seems a pointless exercise ! I go off and write up a magnum opus retelling some fairly core Crow/nCrow insights, but all is for naught as the Tam/Angrim KP/Rill banter appears to be vastly more... of interest .. oh wait.. one post did note my writing were "lies all lies" (I defy that poster to ID a single example . . .) I sense my mistake was to make a misguided (albeit a very accurate and well intentioned) effort at dispelling a myth. So much for retelling a tale when the masses prefer tabloid fodder !

That basically clears it up for anyone wondering how severe the terms were if you're scared of the truth coming out and use threats to hinder free speech. I hereby offer all my defensive war gear, at discounted prices, to all who will stand up for the right of free speech and the disclosure of all surrender terms! I'll even sell some of my prestige tomes. |
