Twillights, I think yours is a reasonable question, and here is my answer.

I like to think of my cities as independent evolving units. Getting 10 cities was just a small milestone, the real goal is to add to their respective value however possible. Sovereignty, research, discoveries, commanders, armies etc. etc. - anything that gives you that bit more potential, that extra maneuver room, that horses head in front of your opponent...on any given Sunday :)

10 cities...psssh. Try maintaining 20 for nearly 2 years.

Impose some limitations on yourself to make the game more challenging!

Try to kill the biggest NPC hordes possible, while MAXIMIZING casualties. Think about it; it's much more challenging and suspenseful trying to hit that sweet spot of victory, than it is to overwhelm an opponent with sheer numbers.

Invest in a huge share of a market and try to make a killing. Buy a few tens of thousands of a weapon or resource, then sell at the right time.

With some creativity you can really create your own game objectives!
