The strategic map needs to remember your current settings.
eCrow is having a practice war with DB. It drives me crazy that the strategic map resets every single time you return to the tactical map. I want to examine a particular town for vulnerabilities, go back to the strategic map, and locate the next enemy city. Right now that involves at least six extra clicks (current position, current city, select my alliance, enable on map, select enemy alliance, enable on map, turn on alliance tracking). If I want nearby hubs or terrain, that's another pair of clicks. Then I get to look at one or two cities, and I have to repeat the entire process. So frustrating! Plus, on my tablet the strategic map clicking is very imprecise. So a lot of times you end up overshooting the desired city. Then you've got to go back to strategic, set up again, check current position, determine how to correct, go back to tactical, and try to scroll around using the arrow buttons (since mobile dragging is disabled). Scrolling on the tactical map is blind, because the mini-map doesn't show the strategic map settings like highlighted alliances or hubs. Double frustrating. The map is arguably the most important tool in alliance vs alliance combat, and it is unbelievably repetitive and error prone. Which is a shame, because it's really a pretty map, and a great MMORTS feature. |
