Updates 15JUL10
Sovereignty Phase 2 of 4
Sovereign Claims and counter-claims are now permitted.

To claim a square, send an army to Occupy a square on the map, then click on the army and choose Claim Sovereignty.

Have fun!

Edit: Never mind I'm drunk and slow. Missed a step. Dur Embarrassed

Actually, did you do this by design to remove automation, or is there no reason why you didnt create a new order for your army? Thing is it doesn't really fit into your 'can't issue orders at a distance' rule.

Instead of having to send your army to occupy, then while they are there issue an order (again at a distance) to claim sov, why not include a new order 'Claim' for the army to march out and claim sov on either unclaimed squares or any squares?

Which will, definitely, be changing.

Two separate things here, Daisy.

1: You sent an army out to a square on which there was a hostile or Neutral Caravan, and when your army arrived it killed the caravan as it would normally do.

2. If you wish to Claim Sovereignty, your army needs to be sent to a square to Occupy that square.  When it has arrived at that square and is occupying, click on the army and choose "Claim Sovereignty".

It's certainly possible to combine items 1 and 2 above into one action, ie:

a) Send Army out to Occupy square
b) Army arrives at square, kills caravan
c) Army takes up occupation of square
d) You click on army and select "Claim Sovereignty"

SC

I have claimed three squares around my capital city.
Now after more than 12 hours , clicking on all of there squares there is the message: claimed by fortebraccio.
How can I manage that? The bonuses are automatically added to my city production? Or have I to build something else?

Furthermore five minutes ago resources (gold) can be seen on the square I claimed. I sent caravan.
The question is: anyone can gather resources on the square I've claimed?

You have to build the Sovereign Structure for the type of bonus you want the Square to produce.  The technologies (and ability) to build these Structures have not yet been released, but (most) will be released over this coming weekend.

Yes they can.  NPC resource gathering works as normal.

I was very eager to start claiming sovereignty as fast as possible. Now I´ve read more about it and decided that it´s to expencive for me at the moment. I want to wait until my town is bigger. So I tried to disclaim. It worked fine in my second town, but not in my capital. When I try to disclaim a territory I recieve the message "unable to claim sovereignty". So it thinks I want to claim sovereignty, but I want to disclaim it. I need help solving this. My playername is Rurik.
