Normally one would have a plan to clear troops from the city prior to sending sieges.  This might include having adequate troops in the siege army itself or sending troops to clear the city separately.  Since pretty much anything moves faster than siege armies, the argument about having armies days away doesn't make sense.  And given how serious a siege is, it doesn't seem onerous to expect that level of planning.

or if the attackers are 6-8 days away from it while defenders are between a few hours to 2 days.. you seem to have little idea of what you are talking about.

also in what world cant 80k storm a town just because there is 100 peasants holding pitchforks? its unrealistic and stupid

I see no problem.

If you're serious about taking/razing a city, send additional forces from home to clear it before the final assault.  This also means if you're serious about defending a city and have the forces to defend, you actually can at least save the husk, along with its research, position, and commanders.  As it stands, the onus is properly on the aggressor to coordinate sufficient troops to greater effect than the defender, else return home empty-handed.

First is for a siege camp to do as towns can and charge against the walls as a reverse sally forth. had some annoying problems with this in our current war, had to leave a town at 0 pop just because we couldn't go in and raze it. which is very very strange.. we had 80k troops in the camp and the town had maybe 4k troops gather together and we could do nothing but leave.. this needs to be fixed

Another and on a entirely different subject, adding both so not to make extra topics.

A trade special building, like a trade company building, giving the person more vans to use. i think this is heavily needed as i find myself short on vans all the time and running into the red(full) in my capital all the time because of it.
