For my most recent city, I decided to siege an abandoned account.  As a generally non-military player, I decided that now would be the time to test out the benefits of advanced mounts, armour and weaponry, so dutifully equipped my army.

During the process of the siege, my army was attacked and killed, and the advanced items dropped onto the same square as the city.  Presumably they dropped there as that is the targeted square of the siege, rather than the actual square my army was on.

But they are not harvest-able, because they are on the same square as a city.  And the city doesn't have them in it's inventory.

The city can be found here:
http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/#/World/Map/-927/-516/2

I have also attached a screenshot of the city location as it shows at the moment, as well as my inventory to show the city doesn't have any of the items.

I'll also have a scout/spy mission arriving in about an hour, so will give an update of what is actually there, but it does seem to be a potential problem with sieging cities while using adv items with regards to the scavenging side of things.

My scout mission states items are harvest-able (read: scavenge-able, see below:

Edit: After re-reading the post, I understand now. The siege army was on an adjacent square, but dropped all the gear on the target city's square.

Just FYI, when you Storm & Capture, everything in the town's inventory is destroyed except the first inventory screen. You lose all herbs, minerals, anatomies, elemental salts, and all crafted items. To the best of my knowledge, anything your troops lose while storming the city will be permanently lost.

I didn't storm and capture, one of my alliance stormed and razed on my behalf (due to my losing my own large army to someone accidentally wiping it out).  So that army didn't get to storm the city, so didn't lose anything 'to' the city, it should have dropped on the battleground outside the city (the city in question was inactive, it was an outsider that accidentally attacked my army).

I accepted everything in the town's inventory would be lost, but the adv armour/weapons were never in the inventory (according to spy reports), they were only found in scout reports of the square as 'harvestables'.

I've still got an open & unassigned petition from May last year - thought I'd get an answer to this potentially sooner via the forums :)

Putting in a petition gives the developers a way to organize and prioritize the issue in the petition database -- something they can't do with forum posts.  Forum posts can sometimes be useful if someone knows of a solution or to determine if it's an idiosyncratic (one-time) problem or a common bug, but I wouldn't recommend trying to use it to jump the line in the petition queue -- I promise, it doesn't work.

If you haven't, you need to file a petition with this information, please. A forum post is only for issues where you cannot actually get in game to file a petition.
