Topic: Recall/Undo on Trades Posted: 04 Oct 2012 at 00:48 |

So I just posted a trade order but used total price instead of price per item. I caught the mistake 2 seconds later but I already lost 40M in gold due to that stupid tax. When are we going to get something that allows you to undo simple mistakes like this, similar to the recall option in military? Same goes for gatherers.

I agree absolutely. You should be able to cancel a posted order prior to it getting filled without being taxed for it. In addition, I would suggest that the taxes not be collected until the sale is actually made, and then have that amount deducted from the proceeds. It is possible that a player could try to post a sell order on the market because they literally have 0 gold and they need to raise funds. If there is no gold in their coffers to pay the tax upon posting, they would be unable to sell goods to raise funds. It's a perfect Catch-22 situation. In the real world, a merchant would go broke if they had to pay the sales tax on every item that they stocked on their shelves before the item was sold. Collecting taxes in advance will simply depress the market as sellers will find themselves unable to afford to advertise goods for sale, a situation which will lead to an untaxable black market.

Well once the purchase is actually made sure go ahead and send the vans. But before if you priced something with extra zeros, well no one would ever buy it and you could change it. Now you pay taxes well above the extra money you would have made and no one will sell it. So you get trade score thats pretty much it.

You don't even get trade score unless someone accepts your offer.

Well in that case, the king just takes your money for free and offers nothing. Even better. Although I thought trade score was based on amount of tax paid. Either way not the focus of the thread. The point here is as with many things in illy, a couple of clicks can completely screw you in the game.

Paying taxes at the time of the offer has more undesirable side-effects, e.g., changing prices down and up again results in a part of the taxes paid twice. The research to change prices often is in essence useless.
I'm also reluctant to explore new hubs when I lose taxes for sell orders in the old hub for moved goods.
