Topic: Recall for Gatherers and TradersPosted: 16 Aug 2012 at 20:18 |

It would be good to have an ability to recall gatherers and traders for 120 seconds the way we can armies and diplos. Nothing like clicking something and realizing you just sent 40 skinners from the wrong town on a 4-day journey to something that won't be there when they arrive.

Indeed, it's bad enough when my miners get killed after a 4d travel, but bumped by my own miners erroneously sent to the same square is worse.
Update: Two confirmations could also do the trick, one for excessively long journeys: Are you sure that you want to harvest in Elijal with vans from Norweld? (or similar) Another for self-bumps: Are you sure that you want to send more units to square x|y? Preemptive bumping is a good strategy, but unusual enough for a confirmation. The whole no-recall-option for trade units has gotten my goat more than once.. I assume the purpose is to prevent the option of sending caravns out carrying your most valuable possessions to avoid losing the stuff in an attack, and then recalling after the attack has landed. Do we know of any other possible purposes?
Now that I think about it, maybe this is part of the reason for the "cancelled sell order tax"? Iow, I can't send my valuables to a trade hub and "store" them at an incredibly high price/fake sell order, unless I want to pay the tax when it's time to cancel the order and bring the stuff back home. Am I off base here? (/me wonders if the devs want to just see more vaults being built..) |

Happened to me that I sent skinners on 3 days journey, simply because of one -.... I usually send skinners just after my army, by replacing coordinates in http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/#/Trade/Orders/666/666?ActionTypeID=2 to something else, I just forgot a minus sign

I think someone mentioned long ago the inability to recall caravans prevented people from going back on market trades just by recalling caravans (whilst the other person had already sent). Not sure if that is the "official" reason, but if it is it shouldn't apply to gatherers or traders.

I agree gatherers and traders should have the 120 sec recall otpion.
Also, i had a lil suggestion: i think it would often save us some time if we could send an harvest mission on any square, even if there is nothing to harvest for the moment... having to wait your armies to arrive and kill the NPC is in my opinion an un-necessary consumption of time. |

Mandarin you can do that already. Just click on any harvestable square, replace coordinates in URL, press Enter so the page reloads and send your harvesters. A bit tedious I know, but it works.
