SALLY FORTH STRATAGEM

No - not the name of an old girlfriend (and we never got to that base, anyway...) - this is instead a new Military Stratagem available at Barracks Level 4.

  • Sallying Forth can only be used when your City is under siege.  Sallying Forth is not available against Blockades.

  • You must have researched the technology to use this stratagem.

  • When the Bombardment begins, 12 hours after the Siege engines arrive, the player who owns the Besieged City will have the option to Sally Forth.  This option appears on the Military Summary / Sieges page.

  • Selecting Sally Forth binds all the armies present (including reinforcements) under the temporary command of the player who owns the besieged town.

  • Sallying Forth leaves all the units in the Unit Pool behind.

  • Armies to participate in the Sally stratagem must be capable of movement on their own.  ie. There must be a living commander in each army that is to participate.

  • All the armies present in the city head out together and strike the sieging army together - using the Raid stratagem - which limits casualties on both sides to a maximum of one third.

  • All the armies receive all their usual bonuses, just like they would normally, under each players' and commanders' control - with the exception of movement speed bonuses.

  • Controlling such a large number of disparate armies is a complex procedure, so armies Sallying Forth move at a constant speed of 5 squares per hour regardless of their bonuses or commander abilities.

  • After Sallying Forth and raiding the sieging army, the Sallying armies will return back to the city and carry on with their defense and reinforcement orders.

  • There is a 6 hour cooldown timer after Sallying Forth.
We (obviously) think this is a good strategic addition to a player's arsenal.

ARMY, DIVISION & COMMANDER DELETION
Yes my friends, it's true.

You can now delete unwanted divisions and armies via the Barracks / Armies page, and you can also permanently destroy unwanted commanders via the Barracks / Commanders page.

To destroy divisions they must be empty - without commanders or units.  To destroy armies, they must not have any divisions attached to them.

Please be aware that there is no "undo" function for these actions.

Regards,

GM Stormcrow

Nice things SC :).
Like it.

What about remembering the Army and Division names?
So i dont have to remake all of them when my armies are destroyed.
Just wondering if this is possible.

Still good work mate.

Oh, and "Because you're worth it" is without a doubt, indisputably, unarguably, the very BEST freakin description on the Herald ever...
