Hi all,

We all miss IllyTools.  There is talk of other aspiring designers and programmers putting something new and similar together.  I'm sure some of such development will be kept close to the chest for the purpose of an advantage of some sort in the game.  But why not a public open-source effort?

Anyone interested in leading up this effort?  In my own experience in the game I have found a number of players to be talented in various areas of IT who could easily contribute to this effort.  And those that aren't as skilled can serve as testers and for providing feedback.

Let's start a movement!

I have no technical skills, but would be happy to volunteer for idiot proofing.

I'm interested too, although my knowledge of the game is limited as I've only been playing for 3 weeks, and my coding knowledge even more so. I'd do anything I could to help, even if that's just motivational support to those working on it =D

I've only been playing for a couple of weeks too. I'm a CS student, I don't really have much experience (I've never designed an app), but perhaps I have enough knowledge to be able to help a bit with this. I think we would need to get a detailed description of what exactly we want it the app to do and a plan of how we want to implement it. I'll try to work on that if I have a bit of free time later tonight, and anyone can give me feedback on that.

Count me in. :)
I also contacted Ubluntu a couple of days ago and we talked for a bit.
So far I released a couple of my http://www.digioso.org/dilly_tools" rel="nofollow - own tools already and I'm working on more.

Digioso: your site looks interesting but the Gameforge ad, which I cannot move or close, is blocking the menu thus making your site unusable. I understand that not everyone can afford to pay for server space, but surely there are better hosting options available.

I just removed the ad. :)
I'm not sure how it looks on mobile devices but at least on a PC it should be possible to close it.

Works fine now, thanks! I do use a PC (Chrome and Windows XP), so I don't know why the ad wouldn't close or move. Possibly my security settings, I don't allow any third-party cookies to be set on my computer.

I've done my version of a replacement for some of the functionality that IllyTools provided and like IllyTools it is a userscript so you will need Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey to use it.

To get it and instructions on how to instal/ use it go to:

http://www.durctools.dewt.me.uk/docs/index.html

I've tested it on both Firefox and Chrome but as far as I'm aware IE does not have the ability to run userscripts - sorry to those that use it. I also have not tested it on any tablets/mobile devices.
