Smile I've looked around the forum and I couldn't find a military dedicated forum so I decided to create one. I think it would be a good idea to have a military forum where you can post up tips and tricks to help out new players who are interested in military or older players who would like to grow there military experience. So if you have any tips, tricks or advice please post it here.

When moving or settling  a military city there are many things to take in some of the most important are:
You want your city to be surrounded by plains because cavalry (the fastest moving Military unit) will most likely be sent by allies to clear sieges and cav gets a large bonus on plains while defensive units (spears/bows) don't

Also you want to try and get your city on a 7 food mountain. That way your troops will have a bonus while defending from clearing attacks. To get a 7 food mountain you will most likely have to terra form.

Guides you should read:

Cavalry Parade Grounds take   up  1100  wood and  2700 clay, So if you wish to settle   a town and want it for cav would want to make sure you have 5  wood   and  5  clay  at the least.

Archers Field. 2700 wood and 1100 iron  so      5 wood and  5 iron   at the least.

Spearmens Billet, 2700 clay  1100 iron  so  5 clay  5 iron for  that at the least.

Infantry Quarters. 2700 stone  and 1100  iron  so   5   stone  5  iron   at the least.

Now that is for   7  fooders  you  of course if you wish to go for 5   fooders you can find  6 clay perhaps 5  wood  and  such  higher   resource production but less  food production  so you may sacrifice Pop and  high taxes for   more  basics Ph for troop production, Or go   7  fooder  for  some less  resource production but higher  pop and   more higher taxes    for larger standing armies during peace, Now of course is someone has    A LOT of gold they can just settle on   5 or   7 food and maintain huge armies and go negative in gold  a  lot without much worry as long as   they have the gold.

Someone asked if they could post battle reports, you can post anything..... as long as it relates to military and is appropriate

I think Battle reports would be a disaster. This thread will reach 30 pages in a few weeks. Keep it to information that will help poeple.

Yeah but don't think many people will post

Sometimes a battle report can be used to illustrate a point, like the benefits of having multiple commanders, or the effects of elite divisions, etc.  I would hope that people would post commentary with such a report -- that could be useful.  I doubt people will be posting every time they kill a legion of rats.
