Big smile Looking to build a military city. If so this is the post for you!

After experimenting with city planners/simulator I came up with the following results.

To get the most amount of troops you would need to have:
-up to 16k pop
-66% tax
-food sob and spell

One example of this would be a spear city:
2 level 20 spear men billets and 1 level 14
You could afford 45k t1 spears and 1k t2, this is just one of many setups you can change this up

You would still have 1k food production and some gold (approx 1k maybe more with diplo's)

This is just an example if you would like to do this I suggest you go and try a simulator for your self.

Does this include cities next to high-food squares?  I think with a high-food square you might be able to get a little bit better results in terms of population, which would allow you to support a few more spears.

In general this result is consistent with my experience, which is mostly based on the brute force method (trying stuff until I find something that seems to work).

Oh, and wonder if you are using an enhanced geomancy spell.  I use two geo towers for a 20% bonus.

The spell is +8% and the food sov is all 5 except for 1 square which is 16 and yes there are better results

Don't forget that once you hit peak army size, you can switch to food sov, crank up taxes, and add some more troops on top of that (at a slower speed). Lots of tournament players build large armies like that.

Yes also if you use a feeder city you could get a lot more troops in your cities

As you can see they can be edited to meet different needs

If done correctly you should be able to handle 100k spear in each city.

Ultimately, if you set up your city cluster properly and are strictly looking for military support/recruitment

You should be able to tweak things to easily support the following numbers in a single city:  ( Single Empire no extraneous support)

T1 spears  ~225K
T2 spears, T1 Bows, T1 Swords = 112.5K
T2 Bows, T2 Swords, T1 Cavalry = 75K
T2 Cavalry = 56K

I am slowly posting how to go about doing this on the http://www.diggik.com/forum/" rel="nofollow - Harmless Diggik forum - Starry has opened up a public forum there to do this.  I will warn that it might take a while to get all the information and documentation that I have posted due to RL interference and having to dredge it up from over a year ago.
