Greetings,
I am calling all alliances who
wish to participate in an alliance vs alliance tournament, details outlined
below. This is a hold the square type of tournament but with a difference to
make it more exciting and different from the server run tournaments. It will
begin on the 11th of August and will run until all but one alliance
has been knocked out of the competition.
How does it work?
Alliances choose squares to
defend for the duration of the tournament; this number is determined by the alliances
population at the beginning of the tournament. If you are required to defend
multiple squares then you must have at least a twenty square distance between
any two squares. Each alliance then has to attack and occupy other squares to
try and knock other alliances out of the competition. Each alliance gets to
choose the location of their squares and these will be kept secret from all
other alliances until the beginning of the tournament. Please refer to the
below list for how many squares each population has to defend.
Alliance population Number
of squares to defend
pop <1.5M One
1.5M< pop >3M Two
3M< pop >4.5M Three
4.5M< pop >6M Four
6M< pop >8M Five
8M< pop >10M Six
10M< pop >12M Seven
12M< pop Eight
The aim is to attack other
alliance’s squares and gain time on those squares in order to knock that
alliance out of the competition. An alliance is knocked out when they have lost
control of their squares for a total of fourteen days (20160 minutes). Once
this has been achieved that alliance is knocked out of the tournament and
cannot attack another alliance’s squares and all of its own squares are removed
from the playing board. Bear in mind that this time does not have to be on one
square, if the alliance has more than one square then it is fourteen days over
all of them. Likewise it does not have to be fourteen days straight but each
occupation will accumulate time against the defending alliance.
What are the prizes?
I have a prize pool of 80k
horses, 60k livestock, 50k swords, 70k bows, 80k spears, 20k saddles, 30k
books, 50k leather armour, 60k chain armour, 35k plate armour, 80k beer, 1 cask
of wine, 30 draught horses, 2.5k riding horse, 1.4k reinforced leather armour
and 170M gold.
This prize pool will be split
into prizes for the top two alliances, the alliance who occupies an opposing
square for the longest time (continuous) and best single player kill ratio. I will
also be awarding a medal to the most valuable player from the top three alliances;
this will be decided by the alliances themselves.
I would very much welcome, and be
very grateful for, any donations of goods so that I can create better prizes and
different kinds of awards for those that are participating (this is everything
that I have in storage). If you wish to donate some prestige as well to help
create some medals for the winners of one of the awards please send me an igm
and we can discuss the best way to go about this.
How do I enter?
If you are interested in entering
please send me an igm with a list of the squares that you will be defending in
the tournament. I will provide a list at the bottom of this post that shows all
of the alliances that have entered and I would ask that you drop any NAP’s and
Confed’s that you have with fellow competitors otherwise you will not be able
to attack each other. How are the squares monitored?
I will then release a list of
these squares once the tournament begins noting which alliance is defending
which squares. I will also provide a list showing the occupation times on each
square and a count for how long each alliance has left until they are knocked
out of the competition. To be able to do this I would ask that one player from
each alliance forwards me every battle report that their alliance receives (I
should only receive the same battle report twice, once from the defending
alliance and once from the attacking alliance). This is so that I can work out
the occupation times and also to run a few stats for the tournament. I would
ask that you send them with a certain subject heading format so that I can easily
identify them, the format is shown below.
Subject: (square location)
(attacking alliance) (defending alliance) (change in occupation)
Eg.
If alliance A attacks alliance B
on square xxx/-yyy and alliance A gains control of the square after the attack
the subject header would look like xxx/-yyy A B
Change.
If alliance A attacks alliance B
on square xxx/-yyy and alliance A does NOT
gain control of the square after the attack the subject header would look like xxx/-yyy A B.
I will be relying heavily on
these mails as I cannot monitor every square that is in use and therefore I
rely on your honesty in regards to when a square changes ownership and also
when your troops leave the square, even if there is no battle!
Can I also ask for one or two
more players to help me to crunch the numbers so that everyone can view a more
updated version of the standings as I cannot guarantee enough time to go
through all of the changes more than once a day, plus it will help to give the
participating alliances quicker updates. It would not be a difficult job to do,
just entering some numbers into a spreadsheet, but will be quite time
consuming. If you are interested please send me an igm and I will provide all
of the information the you require, I don’t think I will be able to run the
tournament without at least one person helping me on this as I will not have
the time to keep all of the data updated properly by myself.
So if your alliance is interested
in participating please send me an igm with the squares that you are defending and
I will register you. Also if you have any queries about anything in regards to
the tournament feel free to contact me and I will be more than willing to
answer them for you. On a final note if there is any disputes in regards to the
tournament please refer them to me and I will deal with them as I see fit! I look forward to seeing you all out on the field participating!
Regards,
Altrix p.s. If I have forgotten anything feel free to point it out to me :)
