Hey Everyone, I'm putting together a world map for Elgea that players will be able to purchase from our online store. I just wanted some input on the sorts of things you all would be interested in seeing included in the world map, i.e. just geography or include faction information, political territories, etc. Thanks! I think there should be lines for the regional boundaries at least. An indication of elevation could be interesting. Also notable features like Audrey, the Rift, maybe fortress of shadows, misted lands. I would also like light gridlines so I can accurately place the markers for cities and armies when I mount it on a table in my war room.

You know what would be AWESOME? If there were a broken lands map included in the pack, maybe as a limited-edition promotion. It wouldn't have to be a fully accurate map, maybe along the lines of maps of early European explorers of the Americas. So we wouldn't expect it to look just like that, but sort of something like it. Would be an awesome keepsake.

Roads will be nice also a change on how cities look will be nice as same with hubs.. 3D Map will be exellent, Just a bit of more improvement of the world map is cool. Perhaps can include fortresses and that sort. and bounderies perhaps more 7 food or more food.... The herald needs to be updated a bit more some changes is good.. and lastely know its not of world map lol but new avatar options will be greately apreciated perhaps crows and more stuff ------------- Tutela 111-Sir Bradly is surprisingly nice. | I agree, no coloration due to regions like Norweld and Ragallon, just outlines and labels. I would like to see biomes indicated. I like the idea of a grid, although spacing could be relatively large. Faction hubs should be indicated on the map; an icon indicating the faction would be nice, since there are so many hubs. And perhaps you could name the major forests, rivers, lakes, seas, deserts and mountain ranges? |

Regions and hubs for sure, though I'm not sure I want to see the colors, even muted. Elevations and biomes would be splendid. I like the idea of names for features but then I couldn't call those things whatever I want to call them. The Rift and etc. are also good ideas. As for the grid, I'd like to see it on there. Perhaps in 1=100 scale? ------------- |

GM Cerberus, I am surprised by your last announcement. I would have thought that every effort from the Dev Team is now being allocated to the prompt release of TBL. Only 2 options here: 1) TBL is finished and you are about to release it. In that case, your Elgea map project is part of a series of follow-through projects... GREAT!  2) TBL is not finished and your last message could be construed as a probe announcement to the Illy players community to check on the potential to "raise funds" .  Which is it? I don't see why it needs to be either. I really doubt people who are involved in creating printable maps are the same people who are trying to figure out how to code the faction quest cycle so the Heffalumps don't take over and start slaughtering the playerbase. This is something that players want that they can deliver without detracting from their work on Broken Lands. So why not do it?

Hey how about you print the map with a players cities on them (ie like my ten cities only), along with faction hubs, regions, Audrey, the rift etc. And then why not an alliance map as well In colour and black and white! And what dimensions were you thinking of printing? A3? ------------- There's worse blokes than me!! |

If it is a poster that goes in our cafepress store, it'll be the same for everyone. So no customizations for a single player (like marking cities, etc.) There could be multiple versions of it though (one with colored regions, one in all browns to look more old fashioned, etc). There's no need to conspiracy theorize about how this is affecting development of the game because it isn't. GM Cerb is our art director so this is exactly the sort of thing he's great at doing for our players. Yes, "Here be Dragons" sounds good. I guess at around 980|769 in Qarosslan? Or would that be Eaglesbrood? And Sirens, and Harpys and Giants, and Eaglesbrood and Sylvans and ... (All with nice pictures, of course.) And maybe include info about the racial default standings of the faction hubs - assuming that those will soon be an imporant game aspect.

You could create a dry erase version, that would be great for not only marking cities but also resource patches, potential city spots, really anything. Awesome ideas. I especially like the stickers. I'd love to have animal sticker packs too, just because. If not stickers, another cool thing to have on the Illy map would be occasional animals representative of that region. Like white tigers in Tamarin. Also maybe relevant elementals could be found north, south, east and west. This can be so awesome, maybe you can even release new maps every year or do numbered special editions. I want to get mine autographed by the devs! Illycon cannot come soon enough.
