was wondering what other players think is too much? with lower build times of orc spears....is a million troops in one castle too much? two million? ten million?...with alliance gold is a billion gold too much? two billion? ten billion? next question.....is it fair to bring over this amount to broken lands with current alliance transfer or should it be left only on the current side? how should alliances be allow to transfer current alliance funds or are we going to allow this alliance advantage to able to transfer to broken lands? i would love to hear the devs to respond to this forum topic also.... 20 castle accounts....oh my oh my when is it too much?

To be fair this perhaps represents a distillation of Twi's previous discussion points... the platonic ideal of Twi's question; Twi is approaching Robert Pirsig's* high altitudes at which we must accept the air-fuel mix is becoming too rich for lessor minds... (part of me thinks I should not post when drinking - but no-one else seems to be so fastidious).
Of course some players/alliances have done rather better than others in accumulating capital and as this is a persistent world that accumulation persists and compounds: that is inherent in persistence.
There are checks and balances of course and the fact that resources will not apparently be able to be sent from Elgea to BL initially will be another balance.
But if you include so many balances that no matter what effort you put in you can't get an advantage over anyone else the game ceases to be interesting.

One may be able to switch the alliance capital to a BL city. If so, one could withdraw the gold that way. Unless the Devs thought of that already.

If the alliance capital is in TBL does that mean that I can finally stick it to the tax man and not pay him?

That's a great question and it goes both ways. Assuming an alliance member starts a town in BL and that town will be part of the alliance, how will taxes be collected? As a gold hungry despot, I want to know.
EDIT: and no, it's not too much!

There no such thing as to much. What is a lot to me may be nothing to you. When playing a game such as this there is no such thing as to much. The name of the game is to outlast everyone take everything they have and to beat them into submission. You cant do that with the mind set of [I have to much.]

It's only 'too much' when the cost is too high. I like that pushing the limits can cost proportionately more. I like that we can discount both generation and maintenance (again, pushing limits at high cost). This encourages players to find resourceful ways of making something exceptional.
Hazarding a guess: if anything could be transferred to BL, then there would be a heavy tax, either an actual export tax, or some incidental way that gold could be robbed, troops expire due to the hazardous journey, etc.

"too much" is a lot more than you got.

20 legendary cities per account is definitely too much, but it's probably the best solution that doesn't penalize the veteran players, like every other major update already has done. The only alternative I see is allowing cities to exodus to the BL. It would work only if we veteran players weren't penalized for doing it.
To your question about alliances with 1 billion gold in reserves, i'd have to say that is a paltry amount for a large alliance. Some of us individuals have 1 billion or more ourselves.

yes there are billions and billions and it makes u wonder why anyone would need anything on this side of the game, why anyone would be crazy enough to even challege any major alliance and everyone accept that current play will only become more and more slanted to fewer and fewer players....didnt someone actually say they didnt want this game to become like evony? it certainly looks like the older evony servers...lets hope the devs have the common sense not to bring over the mindset of this side of the game over to brokenlands... if they do allow the gold over there with a simple capitol switch....ouch...lets leave this mess on this side of the game...first one to 2 million troops in a castle gets the prize...loserville hat! too much is too much when it slants the game play! put restrictions on amounts devs!

You only have too many troops in 1 city if the game starts removing them due to lack of resources.

No. There is no limit to alliance gold.
twilights wrote:
two billion? |
As long as an alliance has a surplus of gold, they will continue to stockpile it as there is no strong incentive to use gold.

being fair is relative. However the devs have said it is their intentions to create a blank continent that all players will begin on at level 0. This is why troops, diplos, magic, and resources can not move between continents. Using alliance treasury as a way to move gold between continents seems to be a loophole in their architecture. I personally believe the devs are likely to prevent gold from moving between continents, including alliance funds.

Seriously? Aside from the questions about BL, the thought of somebody having millions of troops in a single city is fairly well ridiculous. Do the math:
As a Human player, my fastest troop production is T1 spears @ 12/hr. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, I have enough Sov claims dedicated to troop production to double that rate to 24/hr. At that rate I could produce 576 T1 spears a day. If I do nothing but produce troops AND I don't use any for tourneys, NPC hunting and/or the occasional war, I could produce 210,240 troops in a year. At that rate, it would take me 5 years to produce 1 million troops in a city. Granted, with 10 cities producing nothing but T1 spears I could have over 2 million total troops in a year's time, but the fear of somebody having millions in one city is fairly well unfounded.

Not that it makes the question less silly, but she did say ORC spears. 20/hr, x3 for sov, is 1440 kobolds per day. +200% sov seems standard for skilled military players, but I've seen configurations for +300 and +400. I assume you could field them indefinitely with limitless gold, but probably 100-150,000 in a city is reasonable, making it 1M-1.5M for a big orc account (not city, obviously).
I don't think it's the standing armies that make orcs so dangerous, it's the sub-1 minute build times on kobolds.
It seems normal for big veteran players to have 1B+ gold and vast stockpiles. I don't see a problem with that, given the immense armies fielded in the C-C War.
I would be disappointed to see gold or any other resources cross from Elgea into BL.

In all Seriousness I expect that as BL is a separate nation, then each alliance will have a separate capital in that nation and that there will therefore be 2 separate gold pools for each alliance, at least that is how I think it should work.

Oh, a different currency. That would be Interesting. I'll leave you to think of the possibilities... though if the phrase "I don't recognise your Orc-ish gold" is muttered, there might be trouble.
