With your current knowledge... if you could do it again, how would you do it differently?

We sat in the sandpit, and played.

Some of us peeped at what others were doing, and did the same.
Some of us tried new things alone.
Some of us helped others who looked like they hadn't seen a sandpit before.

Some of us are burdened with mistakes, perhaps built on weak foundations (what choices did you make when settling town number 2, and have you corrected them?).
Some of us abandoned and started again; others continue to carry the burden.

So, what did you do that's expensive to undo, or perhaps you would have done differently?

Tor
And to answer: my alt cities are located in places that will enable him, when developed, to kick my primary's butt from here to kingdom come (but I hope they get along well).

I always wished that I hadn't wasted my free teleport. I also made a crazy assassin town against the advice of pretty much everyone.. which turned out to be a complete waste, as I was told it would be :P

I put towns on weird res distributions for what I wanted to build with them and had to adapt. All in all though, aside from the release of water sov making my towns ridiculously underpowered vs some of the new locations, I haven't done anything that would make me want to abandon and restart. I'm lucky because I had Fluffy around guiding me back in the early days.

Most of the mistakes were easy to fix and I'm sure if it wasn't those it would've been others. I guess the hardest thing to fix was having to exodus to better plot distributions on a couple of my towns. Not that much trouble overall.

So far I would not do anything different. The best road traveled is the one unknown. Any adjustment are being made as the game goes along. Hine site is 20/20. Cant change the past what's done is done. All you can do is learn from it. Experience is the best knowledge known to man.

I would've spared myself the pain of spreading out my cities over the entire map, and using 5 food locations. Also, I would have picked easily defended spots from the very start, and selected locations near a usable faction hub. Lastly, I would have pushed several buildings through to Level 20, instead of building a mish-mash of different buildings in every city. Especially the crafting buildings. Learning the limitations of crafting was extremely frustrating.

If I had one recommendation for players who plan on becoming long-term Illyrians: learn how sov works in a mature city FIRST. For all the long and detailed guides, there's really only a few things you need to understand to make much better choices.

That said, it has been great fun hunting different animals all over the map. I also came into contact with neat players from many different alliances, and I would have never met them were it not for being a far-flung trader with cities all over Elgea.

Maybe it was the journey, not the destination...
