Anyone else had this problem?

I recently captured a city which turned out to have a negative wood balance due to 2x archers fields. I was on a trip and unable to correct the balance so expected to see a bunch of de-leveling messages as per this thread:

The game correctly de-leveled the first archers field but then seemed to get stuck and start de-leveling random buildings which have no wood impact (saddlemaker) rather than taking down the remaining archers field.

Had the same last week, it took out one level of my brewery in addition to the sov.

I thought it just de-leveled buildings in reverse-order that they were built?  Or does that only happen when its a gold deficit, and is supposed to be smarter about it when it's the other resources?

As a follow-up to that, if it's supposed to be smarter about it, does it drop the level on the highest upkeep building first, or the most recently built, or the lowest level ones, or totally random, or what?

it's supposed to drop the most recently built of the building that has that resource for upkeep.  So if I built a level 20 parade ground after I built a level 5 geo tower, the level 20 parade ground would de-level first, and after that the geo tower, if I ran out of clay.  But it sounds like it's not working.

Darmon, why would buildings de-level after negative gold? I thought units disbanded, and then sov de-leveled?

You're right, I was thinking about gold as being the special scenario, when really it's food.  My bad.
