Ok, I'm new and curious about all the game mechanics and complexities in the game. I don't play a lot of mmos but I love in-depth and complex games. Currently, I'd like to get into a game like this with an rts tick base feature and decided to try out this game. My question is with regard to the future of this game, "Will there be more raw resources and craft-able end items in the future?, Will the AI be more responsive?, and Will the main map have build features?"

When I ask, will the AI be more responsive, I ask whether... factions I think that is the only major AI if I'm not mistaken. Will factions respond to non-trade center(hub) trade? Movement of caravans, cotters, miners? Respond to NPC / Player town sieges? Build cities, roads, outpost? have border skirmishes and change border markers? Will player be able to defect from one region to another and label their town as a part of "X" area thereby influencing the border markers?

Will the main map have build features like faction/alliance walls and towers that prevent movement or roads that enhance movement?

If these questions have been answered some where could you please post a link. If I'm going to play a game for a long term, I'd like to see features that are interesting. I like the 3-D change in the map for this new land and am curious what else is in development whether currently or in the semi-distant future.

Npcs are currently the only AI in-game, factions are coming soon...  These are questions only the devs can really answer, and they won't tell you what is planned, you will have to do what we all do, wait and see.

Oh and hello and welcome to illyriad...

I was mostly curious if these question were already answered and if so where would I find them. I follow games like Dwarf Fortress and they have a specific http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/dev.html" rel="nofollow - location for future development and I couldn't find any such location for Illyriad and am unfamiliar with any locations of threads in the forums that discuss Illyriad's development.

The welcoming community in-game is very kind. Thank you :D

Simply put... we dont know bout this, however once Pathfinding is developed its likely that Caravans could be raided by factions/NPC's

That would depend on your 'standing' with a faction.  If you are very friendly with the faction in your region, they will help defend you, or even support your attacks against others.  However, if you have upset them they will support attacks vs you.

Roads should come with Pathfinding, but that is not one of the imminent releases.

I doubt borders will change,, however it is possible faction hubs may change hands depending on player interaction with the factions.

With Pathfinding it should do.

I would advise you look through the forum 'Announcements' section of the forum, as there are many Dev posts there that hint at what is to come.

"When" is a four letter word for Illy.

"This is a bad idea and we shouldn't do it." - endorsement by HM

"a little name-calling is a positive thing." - Rill
