sory for this being like the stupidiest question possible, but i closed the chat and now i cannot reactivate it!

Hey Dogbert,

ingame, the Options menu underneath the Illyriad logo in the top right corner. Click on Chat, check the "Active" checkbox next to Alliance chat and press "Change".
