Greetings Illyrians, I come to you with a quest. A quest to find out who exactly is Illyriad's biggest fan. Do you wear your Illyriad t-shirt to work? Do you stay up playing late into the night? Do you have a special skill in creating arts and crafts inspired by the game? Do you play Illyriad with family and friends? Do you wear a crown around the house and refer to your backyard as your "sov square"? Think it might be you? Well show us why! How to Enter: Post an original image created by you, in reply to this thread that demonstrates in the most unique and creative way, why you are Illyriad's biggest fan. Include as a marker of authenticity in the image, something that has your player account name (not forum name) on it. The name marker cannot be something that is added on after the photo was taken in a photo manipulation program. Make the image fun, funny, creative, whatever you'd like. Good Examples of how to include your name*:   Bad Examples of how to include your name (will disqualify your images):   How to Win: Post your image between now and end of day server time December 28, 2012 (6 PM CST). On December 29, the GMs will choose winners based on originality, creativity and those that best highlight and represent Illyriad. Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive 500 Prestige and 30 Praetorian Guardsmen in game. Two (2) Runners up will receive 200 Prestige and 10 Praetorian Guardsmen in game. * Yes, that is a picture of my dog sleeping on my keyboard, and of my crayon Illy fan art. :) Details: Winners will be notified via private message on the forums or via email address to which the winning forum account is registered. You must have a valid Illyriad forum account to enter to win. Only one entry per person per forum account. Prizes provided by Illyriad Games, Ltd. All entries must respect http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/code-of-conduct-rules-updated-102911_topic31.html" rel="nofollow - Illyriad forum rules . Entries can be removed or disqualified if they do not follow the forum rules or if they are not the original content of the poster. An active Illyriad game account is required to receive Prestige and Praetorian prizes. No substitution for the prizes listed will be given. I moved this closer to our place since the neighbors don't use it for anything. If its still here come spring, i'll plant something in it. It reminds me of the herb pots in illy.

I got 2 winning pictures. Unfortunately for me, they were taken before I heard about this challenge and don't have my name on them. I shall have to try to remake them! This picture shows TOR's headquarters in real life. At this coffee shop, Gonarr, Flez and Bill Django, most part of TOR's Executive Council, meets twice a week to discuss important issues regarding diplomacy, trade negotiations, military operations and strategies, among other aspects of Illyriad.

Ok, I conceived of this idea about a week ago, before I had heard of the contest. I was thinking about keeping it under wraps, because I have no idea if I am going to be able to pull it off before Gen Con this year. I've been wanting a set of armor for a long time, but didn't know which one I should try to make. Then looking at my profile and thinking I look a lot like my avatar, it hit me. This will be my first 'cosplay' armor build, so I have many challenges ahead. Hopefully it won't become another abandoned project. :)  Here are some detail pictures:     There you have it... Maybe I'm becoming too much like my character that I even want to look like her in RL too! ------------- The image in my avatar is a chalk pastel drawing I did as part of the Imagine Yellowstone Art competition.

Ok, the scary thing is that I didn't have to do anything to create this image, other than figure out how to do a printscreen on my new laptop. Yes, I, Rill Crow, have my own Illy facebook profile, and yes, every item on my bookmarks bar is Illy-related, from Illy crafting to the "new player link" to the Crow website and Crow chat link, to Illytools and the Arcanum Illyriad (Illy wiki).  |

Progressor, I love your idea! I had a similar one, (and maybe I'll pursue it Soon(tm)) Where I would Draw Thes striding away from her burning cities, with the caption "The fire only burns brighter now" Or some such. But I didn't because I'm not that confident that my drafting skills would pull it off.  edit - If I took a better look at your picture, I would have answered my own question.

I am Illy's greatest fan because... I am a data analyst and spend most of my workday developing complex spreadsheets and predictive / optimization models. Then I come back home and work on my Illy spreadsheets! Sometimes my wife thinks I'm catching up on work late in the night when I'm actually catching up on Illy! *evil grin* Not sure how much you can see of this sheet in the pic - it's a sovereignty planner for my city Silverymoon. Blue squares are for troop sov and green squares are for food / clay / basic res. It's currently set up for cavalry with 200% troop production bonus, city pop of around 23k at 50% tax, double cavalry parade grounds, single chancery and single jungle warfare college. The constraint is maintaining positive or very slightly negative in basic res, and not less than -180 in research points: quite a feat! I'm guiding my city builds and sov claims towards this target, but it will take me another 2 months to get there. Edit: Adding a screenshot below so you can see it more clearly.  |

i did all that stuff in a college lecture which was quite boring.I had my calculator with me and I did some very impressive calculation concerning optimum city pop and tax rate for making maximum amount of troops and the time taken for making all those troops. Thank you everyone! It was an excellent show all around, I'm very impressed I won, because I am sure it was a very hard decision by the devs! I will post progress pictures. My husband is trying to tell me one hobby project at a time, but that won't stop me.  My Work area is like Vegas, What goes on in my work area, stays in my work area.  --- Gonarr, I didn't know Illy coffee was a thing. I was wandering Williams-Sonoma (a high end culinary store here in the States) when I find this on the shelf in front of me.  Maybe I should try it some time. :) Then, maybe I should give it to my cotters, and then see how fast they gather!
