Centrum and Trade Hubs
The map will no longer offer you the ability to send resources to the squares immediately surrounding trade hubs, reducing player's ease of sending trades into the void.

Siege City Capture
A bug whereby a captured city would not retain its old City Wall level has been fixed.

Scout Reports
A bug whereby advanced scout reports on a city's troops located abroad would sometimes show incorrect destination information has now been resolved.  In addition, the advanced scout report now breaks down whether the army abroad is either: a) Returning home from (location), b) Travelling outbound to (location) or c) Encamped at (location), and the (location) has now been correctly linked to the world map.

Content Delivery Network
As we have experienced occasional issues related to scripts and images loading, we have migrated our CDN provider to Microsoft Azure. This process is now complete and hopefully, this should help alleviate future outages.

Internet Explorer
IE could queue a building to demolish if you were on the building page and hit enter in chat. Unfortunately, we have not be able to find a satisfactory resolution for this. However, we have now removed the demolish button from the individual building pages when using IE which will mean you cannot accidentally demolish a building when typing enter in chat.

You will have to demolish buildings from the castle demolish building page if you want to demolish buildings in future and use Internet Explorer.

Facebook Terms and Condition Changes
To comply with  https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2012/09/05/platform-updates--operation-developer-love/" rel="nofollow - changes to Facebook's terms & conditions 13a&b  which come into force on 5th Dec:

13a. Desktop web games off of  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/" rel="nofollow - Facebook.com  may only use Facebook Login ( https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/" rel="nofollow - Authentication , excluding user connections such as friend list),  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/" rel="nofollow - Social Plugins  and publishing (e.g., Feed Dialog, Stream Publish, or Open Graph). When authenticating, these games may not request  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/permissions/" rel="nofollow - additional permissions  other than age, email, and our  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/publishing/" rel="nofollow - Publishing Permissions .

13b. Games on  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/" rel="nofollow - Facebook.com  and mobile must not share the same app ID with desktop web games off of  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/" rel="nofollow - Facebook.com . You must not use  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/#canvas/" rel="nofollow - Canvas  apps to promote or link to game sites off of Facebook, and must not use emails obtained from us to promote or link to desktop web games off of  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/" rel="nofollow - Facebook.com .

Around 5th of December the following changes will be implemented:

Illyriad launched illyriad.co.uk using Facebook authentication
When logging into Illyriad using Facebook Connect (Facebook authentication off Facebook); you will be re-asked for permission for Illyriad to connect to your Facebook account. If you accept this everything should proceed as normal.

Illyriad launched from Facebook
When following a link to Illyriad from Facebook, Illyriad will launch as an embedded canvas application inside Facebook, and not open as a full page game. If you have a large screen it will mostly appear as now. If you have a smaller screen, due to the advertising, chat and other Facebook content that will surround Illyriad the screen will slightly be reduced and the top icons shrunk and notifications and chat moved to the bottom of the screen.

Alternative options
Using Facebook authentication you can connect to your account either way, depending on whether you go via Facebook.com or illyriad.co.uk. Although please note, if you use illyriad.co.uk you will need to re-accept the permission to connect as above.

Also you can at any time set your password on your Player preferences page, which can be accessed via the small sub-icon directly underneath your player portrait icon. You can then use this with your playername to login to the illyriad.co.uk site using Email&Password authentication rather than Facebook authentication.

Sovereignty
There are a number of outstanding sovereignty issues where players cannot claim or lower sovereignty on a square where they have ownership, but are not paying any upkeep (or receiving benefit). We will be shortly cancelling all sovereignty claims where upkeep is not being paid.

If you are currently dropping sovereignty on a square, you will need to reclaim in the next couple of days, or you will lose that square's claim entirely when we cancel these claims and have to start again at sovereignty I.

What's in the next couple of days?  About ten weeks ago I sent a van to a hub to check that a reported bug about vans trapped at this hub doesn't depend on the home town.  This trapped test van blocked the exodus of its home town.  After I spent about 500K research points for a sov claim level 5 on the destination square of this blocked exodus I finally gave up on waiting for the bug fix or an administrative destruction of the trapped van, rescinded the sov 5 claim, and started a two weeks research in the blocked town.  No matter what happens with the bug or the trapped van, this town won't exodus in the next ten days.

Without the food bonus generated by this rescinded sov 5 claim I had to switch the structure on another sov square from military to farmstead, and level it up for Illy winter starting soon (= in four days, not soon™.)  Without the military sov on the 2nd square I had to rescind the sov 5 claim on a 3rd square used for clay,  plan to stop the falling sov at level 2, and rebuild the military structure on this 3rd square.  This should take slightly more than 5+4/2+3/2=8.5 days, IOW, I intend to claim sov 2 on this 3rd square in about a week, before December 5.  Is that good enough?
