Hey Illy Community,

I was wondering if a guide on thieving would be well met by yall? I know it sounds counter intuitive to educate would be thieves, but i was hoping it would go some way to lessening thieving attempts by newbs on other newbs. Like for example if the guide was done up nicely and it was stressed to only target inactives & abandoneds?

Feel free to give comments (:

Not knowing tempts many to try it on neighbors getting them in trouble. Others don't try at all for fear of consequences, losing out on all the loot Abandoned accounts have to offer.

1 vote for "Yes."

Its true, inactives are gold mines, just like 7/11's or large holes in the ground from which gold is extracted, yeah or inactives.

But beware the pandoras box effect. Once you've had a taste of the riches and the ease in which they are acquired, can you continue to only thieve from dead targets?

Dum Dum Dum!

Edit: Its late, im dum. Clap

Yes, I would enjoy a good guide on thieving. I do not think it necessary to say only use it on inactives/abandones. Simply put "for use against enemies."

Strategies for living targets would be rather different, they'd recast their ward after its cooldown, they could also track and and raze the source while at it.

But thieves come in handy when trying to raze enemy towns, and they can be a great way to harass enemy towns without using military forces

I'm not against it, but it could deserve its own guide.  My contribution for the guide against inactive targets is http://arcanum-illyria.com/wiki/Runes#Tips" rel="nofollow - wiki/Runes#Tips  Evil Smile

1) Build as many thieves as possible.

2) Find a target.

3) Steal until nothing is left.

Believe me, it does work. :)))

Never had much experience thieving, but I'd imagine if you're looking for active targets you should aim for mid-sized, unaligned players far from your own city. They'll have enough goods to be worth the effort while being the least capable of defending or responding to at attack.
