 There has been much speculation recently about the Order of the Trout, what it stands for and what its intentions are. The medal for some reason has become one of the most sort after accessories at the moment, why I have no idea. Over the last week or so I have been bombarded with IGMs and questions in GC asking exactly that. Indeed a common comment in GC currently is its a bit fishy in here at the moment when there are a few the Orders members about. For the most part I have ignored queries about the Order but a few of you have had a response. A few of the theories have kept me giggling away for hours and some of the conspiracy ones border on the insane. Here is your chance to all speculate exactly what it means... Over the next few days I want to hear your crackpot ideas exactly what the Order of the Trout is about and I'll be offering a prize at the end for either the most original, funniest or most harebrained conspiracy theory. Is it a political movement? A secret spy ring? A group of people who like fishing? Lets hear your ideas. Closing date for your theories is midnight on November 10th and I'll be revealing exactly what it is in a separate thread then for those that don't know what it is shortly thereafter, along with a current membership list. For those already in the know and who want to play along please make your theories as preposterous as possible but don't reveal anything. The only rules are you have to keep the theories clean and you cannot use your theory to attack any player or alliance in the game, although I expect a few H? conspiracy ones to be posted in any case.  Anyone that breaks those rules can expect a visit from me and possibly other members of the Order too if you are completely out of order with what you say... Not to mention the arbitrary warning from GM Luna. If this thread gets locked because of some idiot the least they will have to worry about is a trout being thrown at them! The Order of the Trout is clearly an Illyrian masonic lodge of some type, similar to the illuminati, or should we say Golden Dawn. Mannanan opperates the construction and recruitment of this selective and secretive organisation under the pretence that it is a mere folly, an entertaining sideline in a wargame in which politics trump war at every corner. However, the politics of 'The Order' should never be underestimated. The strench of the trout now pervades Illyrian society not only across regions but across many alliances also. Infecting many of the powerfull alliances even those at war against one another, but do not be fooled by this, the trout is not neutral. The trout exist within alliances to create war, weakening and flattening the mighty organisations of Illyriad ensuring none attain an absolute elite structure. This in turn will in future lead to The Order itself attaining such standing at which point all who do not bear the trout medal will be but pawns in the final Trout Game. We must at all costs limit the pervasive strench of the trout, limiting its spread across our land. That is of course unless I done such a medal, in which case we should all embrase the trout, as there is no-one as trustworthy and honourable as myself. After all who could not trust a character that has survived not only the Valar conflict, but also that of the Black and White war, compared to the evil genious that is Mananananananan. |

 The order of the Trout is like a secret organization full of secret and wonder! Every 3rd sunday of every leap year they must partake in a human sacrifice. If one doesn't happen then one of its members are beat to death by a trout. There are some members that are part of the Order of the Trout that also that don't play in the game some of which include Big Foot, Elvis, and Alf. They usually hold their meetings at a local T.G.I Fridays on a Monday to throw off people. Your secret is out sir  |

The Order of the Trout… We need to start from the beginning! So dear old me, Taron (That’s who Me is), noticed one day in his little stroll to Global Chat (It just became more popular then cause it use to not be easy to find when first starting to play, until the GMs made it easy. Hooray!) I met Manannan. Future Grand Master of The Order of the Trout. Manannan was a small little guy at the time (Don’t kill me for saying that master!), but a very brave person. I would be on my rants about the Cave of Mysterious Cacti, (Who’s Leader will remain unknown!), about the great cacti! Little Manannan at the time was brave enough to ‘slap’ a very important member of the Cave of Mysterious Cacti with a trout. Thus starting the top secret (not revealed tell now!) Cacti Trout War! This was the least bloody war of all in the Land of Illyriad. The Cave of Mysterious Cacti started creating a toxic arsenal of cacti weapons, While the Trout’s prepared for the heat. While the cacti soldiers created this deadly toxic cacti weapon, a discovery was found, making the soldiers happy and less angry towards the Trout members. If the Trout learned, they could have easily put the cacti army into submission, but while the cacti soldiers where off “working” on making a cacti army with toxic weapons, the Trout master Manannan created a massive strong hold. The war subsided, when there was very little trout slapping cause the All Powerful Leader of The Cacti was “working” very hard (Also known as ‘away from Illyriad’). Then The Leader of the Cave of Mysterious Cacti returned, still experimenting with the powerful toxin, realizing this Leader of Trout’s Manannan has created himself, becoming bigger than The Leader of the Cave of Mysterious Cacti. Eventually after the Valor conflict and Black and White war, both the Trout’s and Cacti realized they were almost the same as each other, ending the war, and creating a un official top secret truce between The Cave of Mysterious Cacti and Trout’s. After the Truce, The Cave of Mysterious Cacti became isolated again and returned to being a secret society of unknown members of great secrecy, never to be discovered. Then me (that means Taron, me, the important guy here), watched a war come between two alliances (which will remain unknown but one dealt with Norse mythology and the other with a road that was long). Which later this war subsided, and shortly after another war erupted (remaining unknown as well but one is with carbonized iron and the other with crusaders that come out at night). This war as well subsides almost instantly when a critical event happened. Thus later, the creation of The Order of the Trout! A superior order then I (Taron the important person) has ever seen (but no way superior then that top secret cave....). The Order of the Trout then made itself know. Manannan then started being all fancy wancy, creating an elite order with very important, trustworthy, strong, brave, intellect, people that he knows and trust in the world of Illyriad that he slowly is letting grow. Growing for what? To finally take out and find The Cave of Mysterious Cacti! Which of course this will never happen because The Order has been infiltrated.... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Just gotta say i think that one Taron guy is insane. The order of trout is obviously a organization of all the insane people in Illy. Mana is trying to organize these nut-jobs to do his bidding and take over illy and rule it for himself!!! Quite a genuis plan! Hey.....wait I'm in the order of the trout... Sooooo.... A little squirrel told me that its not what most here would have you believe at all. It seems that one day while polishing his nuts up a tree he happened to oversee a certain gathering of odd looking characters. He edged a little closer as the leader of the group appeared to have a couple of large nuts stashed in his trouser pocket and we all know how squirrels love nuts. As he got closer he heard the one with the pretty Diva dress on say "But Mana you know we shouldn't, we have worked so hard to get this far". "I know" said Mana "but Elli just cant last without it and I'm not sure I can either". "You're right" said Diva "I don't think I can either". Just then Noxxie sidled up and looking around furtively reached in to her case grabbing out a plain cardboard box. As she passed the box to Mana she gave the all clear to Griz and the angel of death who crept up silently. Quickly almost impatiently Mana opened the box, the tape tearing make such a noise they all panicked and crouched expecting someone to appear from the woods around them. After a few seconds they all relaxed a little and began to laugh nervously. The squirrel crept quietly down the branch till he was directly overhead the group, now all clustered together. Looking down he watched as they opened the box and removed the wax paper wrapping from inside. Mana reached in and one by one handed them all a small brown object. The look of delight on their faces radiated through the mottled forest glen. As if they were one they all raised the objects to the sky chanting "They will never defeat us for we are the Order of the Trout!". "Quickly" Mana said "we must destroy the evidence before we are caught". As one they all took the objects and swallowed them. The looks of other world ecstasy overcoming their faces followed by a loud moan. Slowly they all fell to ground almost lifeless revelling in the moment. Just then a noise from the edge of the forest startled them all to life. Quickly they regained their feet and throwing the box and paper in to a bush checked each other to ensure that there was no evidence of their little rendezvous. Whispering hurriedly Mana was heard to say "Same time next week, make sure you are not followed". With that they all made their different ways out of the bushy area and in to a nearby building. The squirrel followed a short distance and were he able to read he would have seen the label on the side of the box that said "Chocolate fish" and the sign above the door to the building that said.... WEIGHT WATCHERS WEEKLY MEETING That my friends is what the squirrel saw. Now you too know the secret of the Order of the Trout!

A prestigious award, presented to those who have shown outstanding fortitude and spent countless hours in Illyriad resolving numerous conflicts of interest. Such dedication usually manifests itself in the state of the lawns, dishes in the sink and finally in an ultimatum from the Missus to 'extract thy digit'. Hence the title of this award... Order of the Trout. An organization
created to control Illyriad and the people that live in it, who have been
nicknamed "Salmons" by the members of this group. They have
infiltrated every alliance in Illyriad and they recognize each other by their fishy
medals. Not a clever plan but they are named after a fish, that kind of sets
them back, expectations wise. The members of
this order identify potential threats and destroy them in humiliating ways. For
example, after Nokigon was converted to the Order, he fired me from my position
as Minister of Paranoia and made me a Bloke in a Cage.
This proves that I
am indeed informed about the Order and I know what they'll do and they will
arrest all of you, salmons, and do horrible snuggly things! They pretend to be
evil by slapping people with fish, so we think they are nice ("Oh, he's
slapping people with a trout, so cute LOL, LMAO, other funny acronyms), while
they are actually pretending to be evil so they can be evil without us thinking
they are evil! We must
rally against them! Protect ourselves! We must start an embargo on every fish
industry. We must dry our rivers. We must hunt every trout and cook those nasty
little creatures! We need someone to stop this invasion like we need a belt to stop our trousers from falling! And who's better to be a belt than Belth? The trout is murder. Everyone given the sign of the trout is an operative sent out by their fishy spawn overlords. They infiltrate all the alliances, converting more to their cause. Who has reason to suspect? They don't hide it, "they have nothing to hide." But that's just scratching the surface of the river. A few weeks go by when trout-order manufactured spawn are placed around the corners of the Illyrian world. Once hatched, the fry seek out players or alliances, attempting to gain their trust. By the time they've reached the Parr stage, they've found a player to link to or else have died, ending their menace to society. Unfortunately there comes a time when they successfully bond... Growing into a Smolt. The afflicted player will and can easily conceal the trout still in this stage, knowingly or unwittingly spreading the Trout's influence. Finally the parasites become adults, taking on a bronze sheen and using the infected players to spread their children, infect and convert other players and begin the trout domination of the world. So cruel are the Illyrian trout that no one is safe. Opponents are eliminated, but perhaps more enraging is that those marked by the order of the trout too are doomed to being eaten by a thousand trout fry. The mark of the trout is a death sentence. There will come a time when they rise, and the only hope we'll have is to flood the oceans and rivers of the world with so much alcohol that the trout are too inebriated to effectively destroy all known life in the world. How to spot someone infected with trout: 1. They talk too little. 2. They talk too much. 3. They are eager to help people (care-avans are an easy way to conceal hidden spawn). 4. They regularly give "advice" to people (this advice is laden with trout spawn). 5. They seek high concentrations of lords and barons in Illyriad, infecting the few who can fight back when the uprising begins. 6. They seek to live in areas with low concentrations of people (to hide more fish spawn). 7. They seek to spread the word of trout via public forums.

What is this "Order of the Trout?" Well the trout is the insignia of the Tully family, Liege Lords over the Riverlands, one of the 7 Kingdoms of Westeros. But the Tully flag is a fish on a field of red and blue, and I see nor red nor blue in the Order of the Trout medal. However, there is Bryndyn Tully, seasoned war vet and Uncle to the Heir of the Tully family. Bryndyn has taken on the moniker "Black Fish," and uses it for his personal coat of arms. In Westeros the BLackfish has historically been known for his experience in combat and for his desire to go against the curve, or "swim upstream" as some would call it. But what does the BlackFish have to do with The Order of the Trout in Illyriad???? In Westeros, the Blackfish's whereabouts remain unknown. He was last seen mysteriously disapearing from a surrounded and sieged castle after his own family yielded the castle to the enemy. The common folk believe he has gone to rally what is left of the Young Wolf's forces to oppose the Tyrinacal Lannister control of the Riverlands. Clearly the Order of the Trout is formed and named as a node to Sir Bryndyn Tully, The Black Fish. This is inline with the much publicized Order of the Phoenix, named after their idol Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Since they are named after the Black Fish, they wish to represent is "swimming upstream" mentality. Furthermore it shows a unified force existing through many lands of Elgea. Now that we know where the name comes from, we can theorize as to the purpose of the Order. I believe they are mimicking the Blackfish. They are forming a coalition against the current tyrant in the largest war plaguing the future of Elgea. First and foremost, I would recommend that from this point forward all of us refer to Manannan by his true name.... Emperor Palpatine or Darth Sidious. No No No you all have it wrong. The order of trout is an organisation of players that hold the secret to all mysteries and discoveries in illyriad they don't only know what the heart of corruption is for, but they also know who the heart belongs too. the misted lands is where they hang out and the rift is where there parking entrance is. They generate the rainbows over new towns. All the excess res that the newbies can't hold, is actually sent to their private store room in Centrum, and that King Sigurd actually pays them rent. The order of trout is everywhere, and some people actually believe that they can unplug you from the elgea matrix . but whatever you do don't let them see you eat anything fishy for they will destroy all your food plots in one swish of the tail. ~R88~ -------------
