Hi, I am the player that EvilKatia mentioed that has the problem.  I am not able to login and when I do I only get half a page.  This is with Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari.   The login page will not update from email to facebook login and if I go to start new account I am not able to change the type of player either.

We had a minor outage with one of our cdn partners serving our static resources (images/style sheets) - we have swapped our dns over but this may take a little while to propagate everywhere on t'interwebs.

2:30 server time, 16 illy tabs hang with a spinning wheel on the "welcome to illy" page, top bar incl. event count and last events is fine (= not always the same), no chat, no friends, clocks not running, last seen chrome message before restarting the browser was "waiting for cdn9".   I'll try some harder reset tricks now...

Update 2:55: ...reconnect and a few login attempts did it, chat works, clocks tick.  I didn't even start nslookup Geek

Hm, no, I get only one working Illy browser tab in Chrome, other Illy tabs still hang, no matter how I try to open them (duplicate, login, history, refresh).Cry

Update: Clearing the cache made it worse, now I'm down to no working Illy tab at all, and tracert claims that notify.illyriad.co.uk doesn't exist.  I can ping 199.167.146.104, is that the IP for notify?

You'd are looking for elgea-notify.illyriad.co.uk

Thanks, elgea-notify works, for whatever my ISP considers as "reduced bandwidth like GPRS":

The behaviour for IE9 and Chrome from my POV with TCPVIEW is almost the same:  For each attempt there are two connections to 199.167.146.104 sending up to 50KB -- IIRC that's by far not enough, it should be at least 150KB.  After that nothing happens over the wire, and both connections to this IP are closed.   Without any connection to 199.167.146.104 it's dead, Jim.

That's some crazy ping times... What do you mean by "reduced bandwidth like GPRS"?

If you are on reduced bandwidth, this might not have helped as you will need to re download everything:

Some European mobile broadband providers offer a "flat rate" with 5 GB at UMTS speed per month, after that they limit the bandwidth to GPRS speed (old cell phone standard, roughly like a modem).

Yeah, not the best time to clear the cache, but in two days I get the next 5 GB.  The timing problem with the hanging script occurs before the huge "all images from scratch" downloads, I never arrive at the point where empty IE9 or Chrome caches would seriously hurt... ;-)

Can you wifi to get the image/scripts download (and see if the page general works), the after caching try on GPRS?

One open WLAN isn't connected to the Internet, and all others are secured...  Oops, while writing this the WLAN went online.

Opening several working Illy Tabs, before the owners kick the uninvited guest using their bandwidth.  It's healthy, four open Illy tabs, four connections with elgea-notify.  I can't say when I cleared the cache the last time before today.  There was a time in 2012 when a login from scratch worked with modem speed (slow, of course, but not hanging at the top of the welcome page.)

After becoming able to login 8 hours ago... I am still unable to do anything the page just doesn't load is my part of the internet being really slow updating or is it something else?

Update:  I tried to open the site on my phone and got the same issue, turned wifi off and it worked over 3G would that suggest a problem with my ISP's DNS servers?

Have exactly the same issue as lethargic. Town screen does not load. What's weird is that it WAS working just less than an hour ago :/

*Update: Works fine now!

Now I'm having this same issue. I can't scroll up or down on the page, the chatbox is cut off for me, as you can see I can't see any building queue on the right side. It looks like only the right side window is messed up, I am able to do everything on the main window fine. Have tried refreshing multiple times and restarting chrome.

That's another problem, the map also behaves oddly.  To get chat, friends, and next events as they used to be I logged off and on again, that fixed the right part of the Illy window.  But not the unresponsive map. Cry

Please try refreshing your browser; should only have been a temporary glitch.

You could reboot your box, and when you're on again open a command line window.  On windows type nslookup cdn9.illyriad.com and press enter, followed by nslookup cdn9.illyriad.com 8.8.8.8 plus enter.  If both commands yield az381996.vo.msecnd.net all should be okay.  If only google (8.8.8.8) has that your DNS servers might still use the old name.  Find somebody who can temporarily flip your DNS to Google's public DNS server (8.8.8.8), and it should work.   As always when using google they might note everything you do, such as playing Illy when everybody else near you is at work.Tongue
