Topic: No Superuser in Alliance

Subject: No Superuser in Alliance

What happens when no member of an alliance has sufficient rights to conduct diplomacy, assign ranks, edit the alliance settings, etc? My alliance's leader abandoned his account without naming a successor or leaving the alliance. Now, none of the remaining members have access to any alliance functions.
It used to be the case that in such circumstances, the system automatically assigns a new superuser, but in our case, this didn't happen. Even when the leader's account was deleted and removed from the alliance roster, this didn't trigger the automatic re-assignment of privileges.
Is there anything we can do to save the alliance, or is it doomed?

P.S.: I did file a petition, but that was days ago, and its status is still "new" and "unassigned", so I thought I'd ask here.

Petition is the way to go.  You might consider refiling it under "Technical Support" -- it might find its way to the right person more quickly that way.

It's been 3 days now since i re-filed the petition. How long does it usually take for a reply? Should I bump it by appending a comment, or should I wait a few more days?

There is not a standard time. Please be patient. Thanks.

Roger, I'll stay tuned. Sorry if I seemed impatient.

Start a new alliance with yourself as the Super user.

I could do that, but then we would lose all that prestige and gold we deposited in the alliance bank.Cry We'd rather use that up, if possible, and afterwards disband the alliance.

Don't, a comment would flag the open petition as "acknowledged, under investigation" before a GM looked into it, and once it's erroneously acknowledged they could miss it... (my favourite meta-bug)Wink

Updating to add more info is fine and is helpful. It will not make us miss it or anything.

Not to seem impatient, but... It's been 10 days since I filed that petition, and there's been no reply. I'm worried that it got overlooked.
Sorry for being such a pain in the rear.

Hi Timrath,
I would just continue to be patient. I have petitions that have gone 6 months without a response. I am sure that they are working on it and just need some time. Especially if the new herald story does herald a new tournament, they may be busy with coding that.

Some petitions are game breaking for the affected players.  I've considered to click abandon at least once daily for the last week.
