I got conflicting answers regarding a question that I have. How are the divisional commander skills calculated? Are they taken as a percentage from the whole troops inside an army, or just from the particular divisions being commanded by each commanders?

For example, say we have an army of 3000 human Knights (each with an attack value of 65), divided into 2 divisions, one division with 2000 Knights and the other division with 1000 Knights, each with their own commanders of course. Both commanders have 10 levels in cavalry divisional attack skill (i.e. Charge). This translates to +10% additional attack bonus. And yes, I know that Knight commanders can level this skill up to level 15.

So, excluding the commanders, this means that the army has an attack value of 195k. How much attack value do I gain from the Charge skill of the 2 commanders? Is it :
A. (0.1)*(3000)*(65) + (0.1)*(3000)*(65) = 39000 bonus attack, or
B. (0.1)*(2000)*(65) + (0.1)*(1000)*(65) =  19500 bonus attack, or
C. (0.1)*(3000)*(65) = 19500 bonus attack, while the divisional skill from the 2nd commander does nothing

At a glance, B and C may seem to yield the same result. However, with C the Charge skill from the 1st commander automatically counts the whole army group and as such the divisional attack skill from the 2nd commander does nothing. Then if C is the case, there is no need to take more than a particular divisional bonus skills in more than one commander if the army group is going to contain multiple commanders.

Sorry for the TLDR. Hopefully the answer to my question above can clear up the confusion other players may also have.

It would have been clearer if you placed diferent values for both commanders... either ways, the divisional bonus of a comander just affects the troops he is leading (just his division). Since in your example both commanders got same level, it wouldnt matter who leads the troops and in what ammount, as either way they will benefit from a 10% bonus ( and just one , as any given troop can only have one commander leading them)

If one of them had lets say 15% and the other just 10%, it would be wiser to give the first all the troops, while just sending the second commander as a stand-alone commander for the personal bonus/ value

So plainly B ...

Then if C is the case, there is no need to take more than a particular divisional bonus skills in more than one commander if the army group is going to contain multiple commanders.

The second commander might still be useful if the first one happens to die for some reason.
