Qu:  When you send a skinner to a square, I gather that they can randomly be killed by npcs that wander into that square, correct? There isn't a mechanism that prevents npcs from going there while skinners are en route or are gathering?

(I'm not saying that there should be, just trying to understand the mechanics).

Thanks for any answers!

Animals do not kill skinners that are gathering. If there were any animals en route, they will bounce back when they see the gatherers.

If some animals camp on the square before the skinners arrive, the skinners will get killed.

Hi, I think that when your skinners (or others) are travelling NPCs can move to your square destination (and kill your skinners when they arrive).
But once you are there, animals are not entering in the square ... and so they are safe from NPCs, but not from other players ...
 Am I wrong?

Animals do kill skinners! I had many skinners killed this way. Even if you send skinners on animal free plot, if animals arrive there first they will kill the skinners.
